Post What are some of the most inexcusable errors the writers/producer ever made

The little chill episode has to be the biggest error of all time, but im sure there were other mistakes through out the years that involved character assasinations and firing of actors from the writers.

Question

Was the mistake in 'Little Chill' when the girls from the 1st season were acting like they didn't know Jo when they had made appearances in some of the other Eastland years?

I was wondering how Jo could've given Cliff a ride to the airport on her bicycle in the Cupid episode this week when she sold it in an earlier episode to help pay her share for the extra room?

Hmmm, you know, I was wondering when Kevin (Ryan Cassidy) disappeared. He actually got to move into the house fer goodness sakes and then... *poof* gone!<grin> Conspiracy? Too many blondes in the cast? The producers met George Clooney? Hmmmm...

ok, in the episode where nat's grandma comes to visit, jo says that she doesnt have any living grandparents, yet in the episodes rights of passage 1&2, jo declines to give her college grad speech only to find that her grandfather is coming all the way from poland to see her give her speech!

i think that's a pretty stupid mistake but i guess i can see how they could have missed it!

Even B4 I read any responses to the subject for inexcuseable episodes, I knew it would be about the Little Chill. I saw the ep in NBC first run in 1986. That was also the same time that "Facts" went into 5 day a week syndication. Then I realized who those girls were from the little chill show because I saw season 1 for the first time. I begane watching the show in 1984 on NBC Wed. nights. They know they screwed up with that "Chill" episode and its too bad that they cannot go back and correct that. That's like having a permanent blemish that will not go away.

Where in the Chill episode do they say they never met Jo? All I remember is I think it was Tootie saying "You remember Jo, right?" That implied that they had already met Jo, though they weren't close.

The one line that comes to my mind is that at one point somebody asked Jo something like "So Jo, where were you that first year when the rest of us were at Eastland?" At least for me, I would think that if they knew her they wouldn't have asked that. That is the one line that comes to my mind but there may be more.

Yeah I think that one line was really stupid. If the point was to make jo feel like the odd one out what the writers could have done was have the girls talk about the first season. Then have Jo be like well remember (and something she did while they were there) and have the girls jump back to yeah that was ok but remember... until Jo gets fed up with trying to figure out their stories from the first year like she did. The rest of the story still works but it would have been better if they at least ignoliged the fact that Jo actually previously knew the girls.

Thumbs down

Hey T, that's what i've been saying all the time. The last episode is THE worst episode of the whole series. It sucked! I cant say anything worse about it, except that it sucked. I mean, if they knew it was the last episode, why didnt they go off with a bang?
Anyway, in 'The little chill' episode, I was too wondering why they would make the girls not remember Jo. I was like, "They all licked envelopes together!" (for anybody who has no idea what im talking about,in the second season, watch the second season's 'Gossip' episode)
Anyway, there you go, that's my rant.

1.Getting rid of Edna's Edibles
2.Getting rid of Edna.
3.I like Chloris Leachman, but not on FOL
4.The chil episode where many of the girls didn't,but should have, recognized Jo.
5.Dragging the show on four years beyond it's life expectancy.

Those are my choices for the biggest errors made by TPTB on FOL

well, on "Little Chill", I remember Tootie saying "you guys remember Jo, right?". They acknoledged her, just that they were never really close.

I am mixed. I think it was great the show stayed on for 9 years, but in another way, it dragged on a few seasons too long. Maybe it was Andy, Maybe it was Beverly, Maybe it was because Mrs. Garrett left. But the last few seasons (tho 8 was surprisingly better than I had remembered) just didn't have the power that 2-5 had.

i think the biggest mistake the show made was in the later epsiode, when jo and blair are at langly is that they do not fight with each other that much anymore. I thought the funnist moments the show had was when jo and blair fought.

A) In "Adoption" Blair tells the judge that Natatlie is a Libra. Then in the one where Alex (Mrs G's son) comes to visit, Natatlie says she's a taurus!!!

B) In the second half of "Into the frying pan" when Jo says "Oh come on everyone, (the builder's name) is here" As she says that she smacks Mrs.Garrett's "Edna's Edibles" sign.

C) In the first episode, Natalie says to Cindy "You can use the dress my sister gave me, i grew out of it before i grew into it." What sister?!?! she doesn't have on, if she did she'd be at natalie's dad's funeral

Cokies:Once again we agree! Man I'd like to see somethin we DON'T agree on! GLAD we agree...again.

At first when you said the envelope thing I was like "what the heck is he talkin about now?" but I know what you talkin about. Well said. True they licked envelopes together but how would you like to lick and talk at the same time? lol. But yeah I'm sure they were aquainted with each other. And I'm positive that they ran into each other more than once on campus or at school.
