Sean Manning returns Friday to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire with a chance at $250,000 and two Lifelines remaining.
The only help he used Thursday was at $8,000 when the audience told him South Carolina's capital (Columbia) is named after Christopher Columbus. At $64,000, he knew "do svidanya" means goodbye in Russian. For $125,000, he knew in a 1996 speech, Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan coined the phrase "irrational exuberance" to refer to the booming stock market. Returning player Robert Rodgers decided to stand pat at the Hal March Jackpot of $64,000 after seeing the day's first question. Rodgers waved away the $125,000 question asking which term was slang for someone who is bad at playing chess. Correct term: patzer. Shari Schooley, whose name is a great test for announcers to say several times quickly, decided to stand pat with $8,000. At $16,000, she called friend Randy to ask which U.S. senator hosted Saturday Night Live in October 2002. Randy said either Hillary Clinton or John McCain. Schooley would not take a chance and kept the $8K. Shari fled quickly after the answer of McCain was revealed. |
