Thumbs down "My Fair Esther" Episode Edited on Nick at Nite

I taped the episode of "My Fair Esther" from this morning and I couldn't wait to see the exchange between Fred and Esther when they did their skit at the beauty contest. Unfortunately they edited the part of the announcer introducing them. When the announcer calls Fred Ted that's where it ends and they go into the skit. In the TBS and the local station versions which I remember well, this is the exchange that happened before they did their skit.

MC: Here's Esther Anderson and Ted P Sanford.
Fred: That's Fred.
MC: Oh, Fred P Sanford.
Fred: G!!
MC: Oh, Fred Sanford G.
Fred: You big dummy!!!

I wonder why Nick at Nite would delete that part. At least they didn't delete the funny exchange between Fred and Esther.

Me too!! I just wondered they would edit that part because there was nothing wrong in what was said in the first place. They need to put the rest of Sanford and Son on DVD so we can see all of the episodes uncut and unedited.

I also agree, editing that particular scene ruined the set up to the skit. It seems that n@n makes it a habit of editing at the wrong moment, I too want to have all episodes on dvd already.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Sanford and Son and All in the Family are on dvd, slowly coming out on dvd, but I would like to ask one question. Why are they taking so long for dvd releases? Some shows like M*A*S*H and Star Trek: Next Gen. get releases every month, I think. Shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have a waiting period of 6 months before new ones get released. Sanford and Archie def. aren't one month and they sure aren't 6 months, either. I think it was a one year waiting period between 1 & 2, so I'm guessing 3 won't be out til next year. Why that long, though? Is it because it's an old show? I'm j/w.
