Default The WTBS Log: August 9, 1980-Present

Well after doing The Nick at Nite Log last year, here is The WTBS Log. I've tried to include every schedule that TBS has had since it began in December 1976, however I couldn't go back any further than August 9th 1980. But I've included two bonus schedules one from a week in November 1979 and one from the week of March 1980.

Here are some notes:

1. All info came from TV Guide and listings in Microfilm of newspapers especially The New York Times.

2. For the most part the schedules are accurate but remember, TV Guide is not always 100% correct so a schedule listed may be a week off.

3. Everything is listed in chronological order and I've listed only sitcoms, dramas, cartoons and some other things I thought were interesting (such as the TBS produced series, Rocky Road, Down to Earth, Safe at Home and The New Leave It to Beaver that aired in the late 80's)

4. I've broken up the scheules into the order of Sundays, Weekdays and Saturdays.

5. At times a new schedule listed may have major or minor changes, usually depending on the time of year. Usually major changes occured at the end of May and in September.

5. Times listed are Central Standard.

Here it is: TBS Log 1980- Present

One question though... why are reruns of the network soap opera "Texas" left out of the schedules? I was really wondering when that aired.

Amazing job! Some of those shows I had no idea were on TBS. Father Knows Best, That Girl, Bonanza, and even Too Close for Comfort! That Fall 1992 line-up brings back memories, actually most of the log does.

Great work! I didn't realize all of the shows that have aired in the past on TBS, I'm glad you were able to find all of the schedules from the past 20 years and beyond. I appreciate all the hard work you put into this log, I think this will be very helpful when it is needed.

Wow, that's excellent. It's terrific that you logged down all of those great shows and what times they came on into a timetable format.

Keep up the good work.

I can't wait for a log for another network!!!!

What an excellent job! I am so impressed with the information and the format that you did it in. There are so many surprises like Hazel, Family Affair, Ozzie and Harriet, Lassie...I never knew that they were even on TBS...thank you so much...you are the BEST!

To borrow the theme song title from "All in the Family," -Those Were the Days! I loved looking back over the schedule from TBS, remembering when the network was truly super.

I remember how TBS was one of the few channels I had on cable (2-13) pre-1979, and of the shows that I watched such as the "Flintstones," "I Love Lucy," "Perry Mason," "That Girl," "I Dream of Jeannie" and the Japanese import, "Space Giants."

I also loved the 80's schedule that rotated "Addams Family" and the "Munsters" every afternoon, as I came home from school. And who can forget the TBS original productions of "Rocky Road," "Safe at Home," and "Down to Earth."

Revisiting the old schedule was bittersweet in that while I loved thinking back to seeing those old shows on TBS, it saddens me that the channel no longer caters to classic television and has followed the Nick at Nite route of carrying only "modern" comedies.

Sorry, about that! I've updated the log and have included Texas. Look for it at 10:05AM from April 2, 1983-September 30, 1983.
