Default Fraiser's Transition from Boston to Seattle

Just wanted to know did the character Frasier move to Seattle before Cheers ended? And if he didn't does anyone know if it was explained on Fraiser why he was living in Seattle?

Frasier stayed on "Cheers" until the very last episode.

When his spinoff premiered, he was already living in Seattle for a few months, and he had moved back to his hometown to host his own radio show.
Also it was established that since he finally divorced Lilith, he wanted to "begin a new life," so to speak.

In the Cheers/Frasier chronology, the move happened between the final episode of Cheers and the first episode of Frasier. Here's how it was explained during the pilot episode of Frasier, entitled "The Good Son" (09/16/1993). This is Frasier explaining to a caller what had gone on in his life in the last few months:

Quote:
Frasier: Six months ago, I was living in Boston. My wife had left me, which was very painful. Then she came back to me, which was excruciating. On top of that, my practice had grown stagnant, and my social life consisted of... hanging around a bar night after night. You see, I was clinging to a life that wasn't working anymore, and I knew I had to do something, anything. So, I ended the marriage once and for all, packed up my things, and moved back here to my hometown of Seattle. Go Seahawks!
More information was given in the episode "Cheerful Goodbyes" (04/20/2002). This is the episode where Frasier goes to Boston for a convention, and runs into Cliff Clavin at the Boston airport, who thinks Frasier's there for his retirement party. Never one to disappoint, Frasier shows up at the party, much to Niles' dismay.

Quote:
Frasier: Well, you know, I hadn't planned on making a speech, so my remarks will have to be extemporaneous.
Carla: I hope that means "dirty."
Martin: Smart money's on "long."
Frasier: It was about ten years ago when I too left Boston. But the kind wishes and outpouring of emotions from my friends remain fresh in my mind. I still remember Sam throwing me a lavish party and dubbing me the "Einstein of Cheers" against my modest protests that I was merely the Neils Bohr.
Carla: You still are!
Frasier: Carla, thank you. And then of course, Norm begging me to stay and that comical moment when Woody threw his arms around my leg and began to cry. Now another one of us is leaving this wonderful town. Good luck, Cliff.
Everyone: Hear, hear.
Norm: Great. I was gonna say "Good luck, Cliff."

I guess in your eyes that probably means that Fraier wasn't a spinoff of Cheers.

yea because it's only a pilot if it's not a known character. Like just a friend that they take one show for. But Fraiser was a spinoff so the audience was already familiar.

yes, but still, I wish they would have shown when he left Boston.

I'vee seen a mistake in the character on "Cheers". He mentioned once that his father's a scientist, & that his father talked him into becoming a phsyciartrist (hope I spelled that right), and Martin is clearly NOT the kind of person to say that! but on an early episode of "Frasier" his father said that he was with the police force for 30 years. Frasier also said once on "Cheers" (I think it was the same ep.) that his father's dead, but on an ep. of "Frasier" where Sam came to visit, he said that he said that because he was mad at Martin at the time.
