Question Edna's Edibles vs Over Our Heads

I'm not sure if this topic was ever posted on this message board but I just want to know which you guys prefer. Edna's Edibles or Over Our Heads? Myself, I liked both in different ways. But the Edibles store was nicer in my opinion although if the Edibles shop stayed it would have gotten boring eventually.(probably) So, in other words...to me, they're tied. Both were very good for the show. But I don't think they should have deserted Over Our Heads when Beverly Ann came. They could've done a lot with the store--maybe a burglary or something else could've happened. So, what do you guys think? Edna's or Over Our Heads?

Edna's Edibles was much better, especially in the 5th season. Over Our Heads was good for what it's worth, but it wasnt worth much. I think they should of just abandoned the shop after it burned down , and come all together and get an apartment or something. Just an idea...

I'm kind of confused. Do you mean the actual STORES or the episodes with the stores as their settings? Either way, it's Over Our Heads. Season 8 was the best in my opinion. I mean, sure, the store was... different. And sure, fish pens aren't the best thing someone could sell. But I hate a lot of food, so a food shop doesn't exactly float my boat. (Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm anorexic or anything. I EAT, I think I just got defective taste buds or something. The only meat I eat is fried chicken, but not because I feel sorry for the animal - well, I do feel sorry for it, but that's not the reason - but becasue it tastes bad. I even hate cheese. All cheese. I take cheese off my pizza - I guess that means it's not pizza anymore.. Anyway, just thought I'd clear that up) Anyhow, I love the Over Our Heads episodes...

Edna's Edibles all the WAY!!!! hehe... I loved the setting!! It was sooo beautiful with all the wood and stuff... and i thought it was a great place for the girls to meet new people and stuff... Don't get me wrong, it's not that i didnt like Over our Heads, its just the show went pretty much downhill after over our heads opened up... I thought it was sweet how all of them were partners in the whole deal, but I still liked Edna's Edibles better... I liked the girls bedroom better when there was the edna's edibles but i liked the living room and the shop much better when it was edna's edibles... the only thing that i think i didnt like over our heads was becasue that house was on crack!! They got some mysterious stairs appearing in the kitchen and it was a NORMAL kitchen too... that was totally weird!! and then they had an "attic" that was right next to the girls bedroom... does that make sense to anyone???? and then what about the doorway to the left of the stairway?? that was odd... cuz the the kitchen woudl have to be pretty low!!! If you think about it... it was ONE ON CRACK HOUSE!!! hehe... But back to the edna's edibles subject, I thought that seasons 5 and 6 were much better than 7-9 except for a FEW select episodes... but there isnt one episode in season 5 that i do not like!!! there are a few in season 6 that i dont liek but not many... only like 2 or 3... (and the fact that mrs. g was on a big hiatus for a few last episodes) but seasons 7-9 i had A LOT of episodes that i didnt particularily like... but most of season 7 i liked... like when they got to sing with el debarge and when tehy thought mrs. g might have had an affair, and the apartment one, and the one where Jo gets dance lessons!!! I love that episode!!! hehe... but I liked more episodes with season 5 better than seasons 7, 8, and 9 put together!! hehe ok i think i answered the edna's edibles vs. over our heads question already... hehe.. SORRY!!

jo: mrs. g gone on ahead I KNOW i can fix the problem
MRs. G: jo only twice in my life have i spoke in an arbitrary manner, once when my ex husband morgaged our home to pay the bookee, and now, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE OR I'LL BEAT YOU WITH MY FRYING PAN!!!

jo: (gets up and laughs)
blair: nice hat!! (laughs)
Nat: waths wrong with it? (takes it off and looks at it) Oh good good!!! I'm loosing a bolt im working half wattage!!

Jo: Woaw Nat!! (grabs blairs palm tree from nat) Nice Girls Don't Throw Trees!!!

Nat: Titilating and Delectable Cookies...
Jo: I knew i should have never asked for help i got mangled mobiles and x-rated cookies!!!

Jo: Hankey Meet Pankey!!

LaverneShirley, I meant the actual store and the setting it created.
Nothing to do with the way the episodes were during that time period. Just which store did you like better. Hope that clears it up.

Thanks for clearing that up, Madness. I did like the setting for Edna's Edibles better, but I'd rather have a penguin clock than a croissant.

FOL85, if you think about, a lot of TV houses are on crack, as you put it. Take the Full House sett. They had two stair cases, one in the living room and one in the kitchen, and miraculously they all led up to the same exact place upstairs. When Joey lived downstairs, there were two staircases going upstairs, but I'm pretty sure there was only one leading downstairs. I THINK I saw someone go down a different staircase in the living room once but I'm not sure, and if they did that staircase disappeared as the series went on. Anyway, the stairs in the family room go up, then they turn a little before they actually get all the way upstairs, then there's a hallway with all the bedrooms. But there's no way all of those bedrooms that big could have fit on top of just the kitchen and the living room in hat layout. Anyway, that's just one example of "on crack" houses. SInce this isn't really FOL, though, I'll shut up.

I am one of those people who thrives on routine. I was shocked when we lost Edna's Edibles. It reminds me so much of a coffee shop in my hometown, so I was very close to it. Over Our Heads is just *too* 80s. The 50s malt shop remake was not successful, in my opinion. OOH is more practical the EE, selling t-shirts, etc., but EE had that nice homey feeling about it.

I think edna's edibles was much better. I personally would rather go there than over our heads.

Over Our Heads was better, in my opinion. The store looked more 80's than Edna's Edibles.

Red face

Ok, this is a tough one. I haven't seen as many episodes with Edna's Edibles as the store as I have with Over Our Heads. I really like the 'Over Our Heads' setting, it was real upbeat and sorta brought energy. I loved the country setting though, so it's real hard to decide. I guess I would have to say Edna's Edibles though.

As for what FOL85 said about the house I find that interesting as well. An extra staircase suddenly appearing and 'convenient' attic space.

I guess it's just the magic of television

Jo: You know I have been watching you too.You have a lot to be shy about!

Beverly Ann: Let's see. It's tomorrow in Africa so if I want to talk to Edna today then I should have called her yesterday...

Natalie: It's a busy day for me. I have to go down to the newspaper office, get a lung transplant...

Beverly Ann: I wonder what's wrong with Jo.

Blair: Today or in general?

Blair: Where have you been?

Jo: At the library.

Blair: Oh, reading "Dumbo", how cute.

Jo: I don't have to read "Dumbo." I bunk right next to her.

Blair: But if I'm not perfect... and that's a *BIG* if, then it wasn't his place to say so.
Jo: You're right. It's my place to say so.

Thumbs up

Over Our Heads all the way. I like the funky stuff. The place had some great ideas. But, I gotta say, the other place was beautiful.

I think I can explain the kitchens. In the 5-6 kitchen, if you walk up 4 steps before getting to Mrs. Garrets hallway, like you do with the girl's hallway, then it would be possible to stand in kitchen without ducking down, LOL. You would also have to walk down a hallway before ending up in the kitchen, because the kitchen pretty much fits in that space from the shop to the living room.
As for the 7-9 kitchen, if you stepped down about 4 stairs before you actually landed in the kitchen, then that kitchen would make sense. Also, wall spaces on both sides of the basement door would have to be alittle bigger for the kitchen steps that lead upstairs to actually lead somewhere. In this case, Mrs. Garret's hallway.
The reason that walking down a few stairs in the 5-6 kitchen wouldnt be possible, is because there would also have to be stairs going up to the shop door, which there are none.

If I confused you, just tell me, LOL.

Edna's Edibles. By the time Over Our Heads came along, the show was clearly running out of gas. Mrs. G's departure didn't help any, either.
