Default Characters who were NOT FUNNY on the Parent Show and received their own spinoff???

(Grady) on Sanford and Son was never funny and receivd his own Show???

(Joanie and Chachi) on Happy Days was never funny and received their own show??

(Gloria) on All in the Family was never funny and received her own Show??

These characters were not even secondary characters and for some reason were spinned off into their own show. All I can say is WHY???

All I can say is, that's why these shows weren't on very long!! LOL. I really don't know what the fascination it with launching bad spin-offs when these people can't hold their own.

Isn't "Flo" another one? I never saw it, so maybe she was funny...

Well Flo was a little different than Grady, Gloria, and Joanie and Chachi on the parent show because she was funny and we all remember the Phrase, "kiss My Grits". Those characters I named were characters you really didn't pay attention to.

Okay. Thanks. I never saw either show, so I didn't know if she was funny or not.

I think TV LAND needs to give life to some 70's sitcoms like Alice.

Yeah, I've seen just part of an episode of Alice. I wish TV Land would play Alice and Flo sometime soon.

Grady was a decent character on Sanford and Son, but he definitely wasn't cut out to have his own show.
BTW, nice name change, Solomon.

I would consider Gloria a secondary character on All In The Family. I think she had her funny moments. I still wasn't interested in seeing her in her own show though.

Gloria wasn't secondary, it was Edith then came Mike and Gloria

That's your opinion. I think they were an ensemble cast and Mike and Gloria were given almost as much airtime as Archie and Edith. I think they were secondary characters.

But if you rate all four of those characters, we all know this is how it would go

1.Archie
2.Edith
3.Mike
4.Gloria

That doesn't matter and it doesn't make them 3rd and 4th characters. It's obvious Solomon. They were secondary characters. Archie and Edith were the main stars while Mike and Gloria were second to them.
Their friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. -- they weren't secondary, but Mike and Gloria most certainly were.

Well atleast we both agree that Gloria had no business getting her own show.
