Default Pop up ads?

I have recently noticed that more and more websites seem to be using pop up ads lately. Has anyone else noticed this? I got online about two years ago, and hardly ever noticed any pop up ads, but now I notice them on almost every website. Even amazon, and Columbia House are using pop up ads now. Aren't they making enough money, that they don't have to use them? I think if I'm going to spend time on their website, and continuously buy stuff, I shouldn't have to wait around on their site, while their stupid pop ups slow everything down. I even installed pop up stopper recently, but since installing that, I seem to be getting more annoying pop ups than ever. Do any of you know how I can get rid of all these freakin pop ups? Thanks!

I agree, I also hate them. Ones that annoy me even more are on places like TVGUIDE.com where it pops up your whole screen, the music slows the computer down and it says "Watch American Idol tonight" or something. I HATE those. I get a lot of them off Yahoo as well for some reason.

I can't have a pop up stopper because I dont have enough hard drive room on my system. It's slow as it is.

I noticed I've been getting a lot of pop-up ads lately. They are very annoying! Sometimes I get so many at one time my computor freezes up.

I know what you mean. Those big ones that take up the whole screen really make me mad. Sometimes you can't even get those ones off your screen. Another thing I hate about pop ups is all the viruses that many of them have.

Pop up ads annoy the hell out of me. It seems like I click the same one over and over to get rid of it, and it just shows up again.

I hate pup-ups, and the people who choose to advertise that way obviously don't care how much they detract from our Internet experience. When you get onto the net through AOL, which I rarely do, they have a 100% effective pop-up blocker, but of course, it's their own browser.

Man, there's nothing I HATE more than pop-up adds. I absolutely can't stand them. The more you click for them to go away, the more come.

Oh man there was this one last night when I was looking for more Shania pics, and it was for "the hulk" and it seriously almost blew my eardrum out.

OMG!!!!!!! Finally, somebody else who goes to TVGuide.com and can relate with me! I have Pop Up Stopper on my comp and have used it since it was a new program in 2000. I don't ever get any popups (that's why I've been using PUS for so long), but the ones that sneak up on you on the website, PUS doesn't block that, and it makes me REALLY mad. And OMG, the popups that take up the entire page!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!! It makes me SO mad!

I haven't seen a virus come from a popup on this computer but perhaps you should buy some anti virus protection...
