Post Off Topic: Some people might find it interesting though

The following message I found on a message board for the Cosby Show. It is about what shows are supposedly coming to NAN in the next couple of years.

There was a big news article on Roseanne coming to Nick at Nite during nights and on Oxygen in the daytime starting in 2003. Right now TBS has the rights to it.
But in 2003 it will be on N@N and Oxygen.
TBS has rights to The Cosby Show until 2004, maybe Nick at Nite will pick it up after that. And yes these WB shows will be coming to Nick at Nite OR Nickelodeon, shows like Full House and Fresh Prince.
Upcoming on N@N:
October 15th: Three's Company
September 2001: Family Ties
TBA (probably Oct 2001): Cheers
2003: Roseanne
2003/2004: WB shows come at 8:30 on N@N and earlier on Nickelodeon.

Also I guess there is a rumor that Different Strokes is coming as well sometime next year. I am going to find it quite strange if Roseanne comes to Nick at Nite. My question is will NAN find episodes of that show to contriversial to show? My personal opinion is there will definitely be a few episodes they would not show. just something to think about.

So in 2003 there going to bring Rosanne no I hate that show and plus if they can't show the bad shows of FOL then there going to skip a ton of episodes of Rosanne.

Ugh! I hope that's not the schedule for new shows next year! Do we really need to see more Cheers and Roseanne reruns? They are already on constantly. Those are weird choices for NAN. Family Ties, don't love it, don't hate it... How about What's Happening?, Punky Brewster or Mr. Belvedere...

Isn't "Roseanne" too "new" a show? It's still running in syndication.
I agree about "What's Happening","Mr.Belvedere",and ESPECIALLY "Punky Brewster".

A thought just popped into my head-"Friends" only on N@N in 2020.

seems like they're buying too many shows for their small amount of air time. Seems like soon they need to make n@n its own channel, and play all day, no sharing with rugrats. I couldn't believe when I heard Fresh Prince and Full House. Those are on so much I've memorized all the episodes. I'm with you on Punky and Mr. Belvedere, but don't forget Silver Spoons!

cool i love all those shows that might be comming to nan... except cheers im pretty sick of already... but they are pretty "new" shows... i mean full house was in MY lifetime I grew up watching that and im only 15!! but it ended in 1992... so i mean 8 years off the air in new episodes is pretty weird!! and it'll suck when TBS stops showing rosanne and it comes to NaN if it does... cuz if NaN can't show the ep where tootie might have sex and the whole episode is about SAFE sex... then they won't show the episode where becky asks for birth control pills, where darlene gets caught making out with that boy when she was younger, when darlene and david first have sex, and almost all of the other shows.... HEHE!! and i mean it'll suck if it goes to NaN i love rosanne she's so funny and stuff but i hope NaN doesnt pick it up cuz then the show will suck dick!!!

I just wanted to make a small correction. Full House went off the air in 95. So in my opinion it is REALLY to soon to even think about bringing it to Nick at Nite.

They've brought shows to Nick-at-Nite pretty soon. Wonder Years started on N@N in 1997, October and it hadn't been off the air that long. I want to say it went off in 92, 93. So, they've done it before and it probably won't be the last time.

I agree with most of you guys. It bugs me that Nick At Nite has started adding relatively "new" sitcoms to its lineup, because it goes against everything it set out to be in the beginning. The ideal Nick At Nite to me will always be the original, when they aired such great shows as Patty Duke, Donna Reed, Dobie Gillis, Mr. Ed, Car 54 Where Are You?, and Laugh In.

However, the greatest television shows of all time came from the '80s, so I love seeing shows from that era pop up. But buying the rights to all of these shows Ted Turner shoves down our throats 2 or 3 times a day, like "Roseanne" or "Fresh Prince," is ridiculous. Frankly, I'm sick of those shows, and I always hated Roseanne. It's awful!

What N@N needs to do is add "Charles in Charge," "Silver Spoons," "Punky Brewster," "The Hogan Family/Valerie," "Perfect Strangers," "Family Ties," "The Cosby Show," etc. to their lineup. Grabbing all of these shows that ended (or in some cases, BEGAN) in the mid '90s is silly.

Yeah, Silver Spoons! Add that one to my list. I want to see all the ones they haven't shown in a while. Charles In Charge, that was ok but still goes on every day. Perfect Strangers, that goes on everyday too, the Disney channel owns it I think, like Growing Pains. Family Ties and Cosby show go on all the time too. I know some people were upset when NAN took off Happy Days, but that goes on every night on Odyssey now. I always loved Punky Brewster and haven't seen that one in a long time. Bring back Punky!!!

I have been asking myself the same question for the longest. Thanks for bringing up that topic. That show is too recent and has not had time to age yet. It's like wine. It gets better with age.

You know what my thought was? You know a show has to be old or not being aired much in the syndication market if NAN is picking it up.

I couldn't have said it better myself. We have other networks to air these shows. I like Roseanne and think it is a funnu show, but it is NOT Nick at Nite material yet. With the content of the show and characters, I wouldn't say it is fit for NAN period.

Full house would not be a bad choice for NAN, but wait another 10 years at least. Let the shows age. The facts of life aged for 21 years B4 NAN aired it. It gives us a chance to see how people dressed and thought. It also gives us a chance to discover events and happenings that occured back then. Getting new shows(Fresh Prince for NAN get real!) That left the airwaves in mid 90's gives us nothing to look foward to. The Wonder Years I can make an exception for since it dealt with topics from the 60's and 70's.
