Post stuff about jo

theres somthing the show does that has always bothered me. i hate when at the begining they list joe last. even andy and pippa are shown before her. they treat her as if she is just an extra! its terrible!. and when they talk about her motorcycle, THERE IS NO BIKE!!!!! i know that i am a total fan of natalie but jo is great too. and the writers should have fixed these things.

oh great. i'm losing a bolt! now i'm only working half watt-age!

Actually, they're not treating Jo like an extra in the opening credits. Being last is actually a pretty big honor, since Nancy's the last person people see before the show starts and is always seen. I myself have turned on FOL during the opening credits and only saw Jo many times.

Oh, dont feel sorry for her. Laverne is right, being last in the credits is not a bad thing. Usually, sitcoms and other television shows do that 'and introducing...' thing for the most popular character(which apparently Jo was during the run of the show).

i was sort of upset but not much. Besides, they say:
Nancy McKeon
as
"Jo" They dont do that for the other characters now do they? anyway, I give her a drumroll!

I read in another FOL Message board that its a 'contractual perk' when an actor gets last bill on the opening credits and has the words "and" or "with" followed by the introduction of the character (like AND Nancy McKeon AS Jo). Although I dont see how. I would call it a perk if you have the starring bill in the opening credits like Charlotte Rae had (which IMO shouldve later been given to Lisa Whelchel instead of Cloris Leachman) but at the end?????? Like someone else said, I just think her character was introduced because she was the last in the opening credits to be mentioned. Then again, Im not in show business so I could be wrong!

But Jo_Po Rox, it's more likely that people will see your name the later in the credits you are, because the closer you are to the beginning of the show... does that make sense? If it doesn't, just think about this. You were just out shopping and you get home at, like 9:58 pm (Eastern). You've NEVER seen FOL before. You decide to watch some TV. You turn on the TV and it happens to be on N@N because your little sister was watching Nickelodeon earlier and no one's touched the TV since. Anyway, you turn on the TV and it's the FOL opening credits. You see Sherrie Krenn's name on the screen, then you see "And Nancy McKeon as Jo" and then the episode starts. You only saw a millisecond of Sherrie and didn't even catch the whole name. But you sure as hell know that Nancy McKeon plays Jo.

Wonder which character you remember most after the show?

LaverneShirley You got a point there but I wouldve never thought that having your name shown last on a TV show was an actual perk. I thought it was the "starring" part. I was always surprised at why Nancy McKeon got the last bill since I thought she was the most popular character in the show. To me it seemed as if they thought she was the least important therefore the last to mention. But we all know that wasnt/isnt the case.

Btw, believe it or not but until I started watching FOL on NAN, I didnt remember anyone from the show except for Blair. I dont know y but her name just stuck to my brain like flies on a no-pest strip (one of Jos famous lines) :-D
