Was glitter that bad? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

You hear everywhere that Glitter is a horrible movie. I nevver seen it before, so if anyone has seen it, can u tell me ur personal opinion. And please, no unnecessary bashing.... esp for ppl who havent seen it.

I have seen Glitter a few times. I personally- just don't like ANY film like that, I wouldn't care if it took away 11 oscars. Saying that though- looking at it in a non-biased way, Glitter is NOT as bad as it's made out to be. A part is supposedly based on mariah, but it seems kinda like she's complaining about like, like if J-LO ever made a movie of 'Jenny from the Block' everyone would be like, don't pee on my leg and tell me iot's raining you lying b'@ch! All in all, I HAVE seen worse films, (I hated 8-MIle, eminem is trying to make too much money by reminding everyone he became famous out of poverty and winning sympathy, I hated it- It's being made into a 'rap-musical' supposedly- everyone's turning to the stage, if stallone doesn't get the next rocky film made, he's making it into a play 'Adrian!!!!') and Mariah is a fairly good actor if she stopped going for roles like those in glitter. It doesn't deserve all of it's unfair criticism, although it DID seem like she was trying to relaunch or revive a music career by singing alot in the film. Then again- Taina, the girl playing her was trying to do what Brandy did with Moesha to get a singing career. All in all- just watch this movie if you like teary eyed flics, in the UK, there are a couple copies in every video store- but it wasn't in UK cinema (I don't think). Glitter will never make money if critics keep bringing it up and dragging it thru the dirt.

ok...i saw it once, last year. My opinion...it was STANDABLE. Would I see it again? No. And it was REALLY sad. I cried. I dunno, I mean...it was just kinda...blah.

i think it was great. Ok not the best thing I have ever seen on film. But considering everything that Mariah was handling at the time it was pretty good. She is a good actress and the story was cute. It's a fun movie to watch and I own it and watch it once in a while.... I say it's great!!!!

I love that movie. It's a cute story and has a good storyline. The begnning was very sad, when she had to be taken to a fostor home

. Also the end was sad., when her boyfriend died,... whats his name? I haven' watched it in like a yr, so i forgot. I don't know why people don't like it.

i though it was very good too. I love the little girl who plays young Mariah she has a great voice. I heard that Mariah is trying to help her to get a recording contract... and I think that Mariah is just the girl that everyone loves to hate and talk down on cause she is a very sweet cool person. I love the movie and im glad that there are open minded people are out there who are her fans.

i thought it was pretty bad. it definitly should NOT have been released to theatres. it probably would of done better as a made for tv movie, or straight to video release.

Sorry David, I saw it last year and bad is not even a word for it. IMO it was horrible. Mariah Carey should stick to singing cause she sure as hell cannot act.
