Thumbs up Where Did Archie Grow Up?

I was wondering if anyone knows where Archie grew up (during the Depression and WWII years). I know in a few episodes, he mentions that him, his brother Fred, (and their parents) lived in a house. Where was the house? I know it was somewhere in New York...but where? I need this info for a story I'm writing about Archie and Edith growing up during the Depression, WWII, and afterward. Please let me know, if anyone knows the answer. If a place was never mentioned, I'll have to make something up. Thanks!

Talking Answering my own post...Jeez! :)

I forgot to add this....since I'll be writing about Edith soon, I also need to know where she grew up. I think, in a couple of episodes it was mentioned that she lived in Scanton, PA, but then lived in New York (she went to high school in New York). Where did she live in New York? Sorry, for all the questions, I'm trying to get everything as possibly accurate as I can get it for my story. Thanks!

I know that Archie went to high school in New York (even that was contradictory, once on AITF it was mentioned he never finished and then on ABP it was a different school and he was given a party by his graduating class).

On the episode where he sees Fred for the first time in 29 years (even though a few years earlier he had a pleasant conversation with Fred over the phone when Fred's daughter Linda was visiting) he asks Fred whatever happened to the old house. Since Fred lived in Baltimore it implied that Archie's family had lived in Baltimore and that only Archie moved to New York.

Also, in the very first episode of AITF, it was mentioned that Archie's parents David and Sarah had visited them the previous year, implying that they didn't live in New York. Of course they could have moved to Florida as many elderly New Yorkers do. Also a few episodes later Archie implied that his father had died during the depression and after that said for sure that he died at 57.

I think it is a great idea to write a back story about Archie and Edith but unfortuneately there were too many contradictions when AITF originally aired to make it totally error free, since the original series was not error free itself (but still the best sitcom ever).

Yep, they're were quite a few contradictions. I'll go with what I think fits best with my story. Someone else said that Archie lived in Bayside (which, I think, is also in Queens). In my story I'll have his father die (not during the depression) but in the late 1940s. I'll have Archie's mother die the day he gets home from the war. I remember in one episode where Archie said his mother was healthy throughout the war and then died when he came home. Thanks for your response. I've just begun this story (two chapters are finished) and it is fun to write and research the history.

It was mentioned in ABP that Edith went to Bayside High School.
I always thought she from New Jersey. You're right about all the contradictions.

Something I noticed:

On an episode in the Second season, the one where Archie, Edith, Gloria, and Meathead go vote in a local election. Gloria and Meathead are campaigning for a woman named "Claire Packer", the one that calls Archie a "Meathead". Anyways, they get to the building where they're gonna vote and Archie finds out he can't, and he says something along the lines of:

Archie: "...Whatddya mean I can't vote? I went to school in this building!"

In "The Election Story" , Archie mentions that he went to school in the building, but he also says he's lived in this neighborhood for 30 years. Confusing when you figure he is about 50 years old.
