Bewitched!

There's been several good debates on this topic here before (of course I'd say so) :

(this one goes more in-depth- stick with it)

Growing up, I didn't like BW at all. Since TV Land's "Witch Weekend," i've grown to like BW, but I still Jeannie's the best. For one thing in the series, Jeannie & Tony never had children to hold the show back. Another thing is that Samantha was much more level-headed than Jeannie, who was often out of control. Also judging from the relatively few BW episodes i've seen, Darrin does a pretty good job of not raising the suspicion of his boss, unlike Dr. Bellows on IDOJ who was always out to get Tony & Roger. Also, the fact that Tony had a best friend who was in on the secret added to the chaos.

That said, I enjoy BW's Serena much better than Jeannie's sister which I didn't really care for. Another good thing i'll say about Bewitched was the relationship between Sam & Darrin--and also I think Uncle Arthur & Aunt Clara were a hoot.

Bewitched!

I don't even like IDOJ very much.

(Hey, pandora_spocks, how did you get such big letters? I wanted to use them too, but couldn't.)

BeWitched! I love them both but if I had to choose it would be BeWitched. I used to love watching that show round my grandparents house with them when I was little, it's very nostalgic for me.

BLT: Yeah, Serena was great. Too bad they didn't feature her character more often.

Thumbs up

I have always liked Bewitched a bit better than I Dream Of Jeannie. I think Bewitched is constructed better than I Dream Of Jeannie when it comes down to characters, plots, chemistry, continuenity (sp?) and last but certainly not least . . . originality.

I guess when it comes down to it, I really enjoy IDJ's cartoonish flavor. I don't like when sitcoms would have serious moments, like the episode with protective mother a couple weeks ago. That episode was on the borderline of being preachy (ie: unfunny). I want a sitcom to be funny & not try to have messages and morals.
