THese are the 4 Classic Sitcoms that are NOT yet on DVD. But stupid Cheers is on DVD

Maude-

Happy Days-

Laverne and Shirley-

Three's Company-

I"M STUNNED that these sitcoms are yet to be released on DVD.

I'd like to see Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and Maude released on DVD. I don't know why they aren't released yet but with the release of a lot of other TV shows on DVD, I wouldn't be surprised if any if not all of the four shows you listed will be released.

I don't know why Maude hasn't been released on DVD yet, but most of Norman Lear's sitcoms have already been released on DVD, (All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Good Times). So I don't see why Maude isn't already released on DVD yet, they all deal with basically the same issues and content. Hopefully, Columbia TriStar will release Maude on DVD, it was one of the many shows on their poll, so maybe they will have plans to release the show on DVD, if there were enough people to support it.

DLT has the rights to Three's Company, so it's up to them to release it on DVD. It seems like their company has been ignoring fans, because fans have sent in messages by e-mail for their wishes to put the show on DVD, but they haven't given us any positive feedback.

Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley deserve to be on DVD, they both are well-recognized shows and they've have had generation of fans throughout the years. So I think at some point they will be released on DVD. I think if there is enough demand for the show to be released on DVD, I think its possible for a DVD release.

I'd like to see those shows on dvd, so fans will be happy, and I'd like see Maude. I'd also like to see The Tracey Ullman Show on dvd too, because it isn't in syndication. (Please don't crucify me SOLOMON because I mentioned another show besides the ones you mentioned.)

Have you talked to anyone from the Chicagoland area? Maude is currently playing there, so I bet you could get someone to tape it for you. There are about 3 million people within the city limits. Someone must watch it.

Happy Days and L&S Are owned by Paramount.

So, if and when they ever come to DVD, it'll be a toss-up how they come.

Ya could get the individual discs like Lucy, or the season sets like Cheers and Frasier.

Only star trek gets first class treatment!

I would like to know that also. It can't be decided by how successful a show was because if that was the case Bosom Buddies wouldn't be on DVD-LOL

I thought I should point that Bosom Buddies is on VHS but it is NOT on DVD.

I know that there is still concern from some studios that releasing shows on DVD will somehow diminish their value in syndication, the thinking being that if people can watch the show on DVD, they won't watch them if they are aired on TV. "Three's Company" is actually syndicated by it's production company, DL Taffner. It's pretty much the only viable property Taffner has, so perhaps the company is reluctant to go with a DVD release. Just a guess.

As for "Maude", it has never been as successful in syndication as Norman Lear's other big hits, like "All in the Family", "The Jeffersons", and "Sanford & Son". Sony may get around to it if the other Lear shows are successful on DVD.

So where was it mentioned that Maude wasn't successful in syndication?
