Default This is what seperated Mr. Roper from Mr. Furley

Mr. Roper acted more as a landlord and Mr. Furley acted more like a father to jack and the girls. Anyone Agree?

Smile I Agree!

Mr. Roper would also bark at the kids for the rent money or get angry with them if he hears any noise upstairs! Mr. Furley was really like their dad or uncle & would actually hang out with them as real Friends! Also you just gotta love Jack calling Furley: RF!

Yeah Mr. Roper made it clear that he was their landlord first and MAYBE friend second. And that's Only if he was in a friendship type of mood-LOL

I Agree! I think he liked the kids but didn't like to show his feelings! That's why I like Furley the Best because he was a real Softie & soo Sweet!!!

I don't know. There were times when Mr. Furley demanded rent money and there was an episode where he tried to throw the kids out of the apartment because of the noise, but as somebody here mentioned before, that was only when he first came on the show. He softened up in the later episodes.

From "Raising Dad" a short lived sitcom with Bob Saget of "Full House" fame.

Furley might have been funnier than Mr. Roper, but not the Ropers together. I think both worked pretty good. Don Knotts was a great choice.

Furley couldn't shine Roper's shoes. There are enough "father figures" and cheap sentiment on sitcoms...I want laughs!
