I ma not a big sports buff, but I am a fan of all the Pittsburg teams. I was wondering how the Pirates (baseball team) are doing this season. Anyone want to fill me in? Thanks!

Well, the Pirates are my home team, and yeah, I have a general idea how they're doing... and it's not very good. I don't know their record off the top of my head, but it's below 500.

They were just swept by the Braves and I believe are recently in last place in the NL Central. I like this team and they seem to have a lot of talent, they just lack middle relievers. I hope they make some moves and get better in the future. McClendon is a good manager and they have a lot of talent!

Yeah, they started off well and a couple of their players have put together nice hit streaks, including Kenny Lofton. It's just injuries and pitching that's got them down. I look for them to be going strong within the next few seasons though.

Unfortunately, the pirates are at the bottom of the barrel in the national central division. They're 13 games under .500 and are 10 1/2 behind the central's leaders--Cubs and Astros.

The pirates have been dry for years haven't they? I don't know what their troubles are. I don't follow the team at all.
