Is there any way to find out which individual ep of The DVD Show was the highest-rated ever? I remember reading in one of my DVD Show books that the second season ep aired Oct. 17, 1962, which was Bank Book 6565696, was the highest-rated to date, but then the show hit a ratings peak of #3 in the third season. If I had to guess myself, I would guess My Husband Is the Best One, only because it aired on Jan. 8, 1964, immediately after what is still the highest-rated half-hour show in tv history (using post-1960 Nielsen ratings), The Giant Jackrabbit ep of The Beverly Hillbillies.

I think I read it was "Walnut," but that could be based on syndication ratings.

This question sort of plaques me. I still haven't norrowed it down to a particular show, but I did by chance cross this graph.
I tried to just post a jpeg of it here, but no luck (it's probably in another format). Here's the site: Nielsen Graphs Here's another: Classic TV Ratings Steve |

I think I read or heard somewhere once, that it was either "That's My Boy!?" or "It May Look Like A Walnut"

This DVD episode was still not the highest-rated episode on tv that week. That honor went to the BH ep that aired right before it, "A Man for Elly". Here is a link to Wesley Hyatt's book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Televisions-To...9026209&sr=1-1 I placed my own order for this book last night, so I'm looking forward to reading it soon! |
