Nope. They didn't. The brown headed guy left, so they simply retitled the band 'S Club'.

That's exactly why I wanted to know their origins. I suspected the same thing. Either actors or a bunch of hand chosen 'singers' groomed for the big time.

Post S Club 7 are OVER!!

As a UK resident and therefor the first to get any news about British groups and artists, I can confirm that S Club 7 have broken up. They made their last UK TV appearance at the start of this month.
I can't say I'm particularly upset at the news cos I'm definately no fan of their music. Unfortunately there is another band - formally known as S Club Juniors, now re-named S Club 8 - who will be taking S Club 7's place.
So people with decent taste in music will continue to suffer!

A replacement group already, eh? Jesus, I swear. Acts like this are like a freakin' hydra. 5 heads fall off & 8 more grow in place...

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard....a replacement group? It's not like the originals were that great to begin with, so like we need more!

Hey, speaking of defunct boybands, is that *really* plastic one- Dreamstreet history? I'll never forget a quote I read from one of them. Something like: "We're not like the other boybands..we're actually boys."

Heh. He *shoulda* said- "We're not like the other boybands, we're actually more blatantly manufactured and dumber."

Jesse McCartney quit to go solo, and a big lawsuit happened between some of the boys and the studio or whatever... so pretty much, yeah. But they're making a new DreamStreet with Chris Trousdale, the only 1 from the original... haha. let's see if they do any good. (and S Club 7 and S Club Juniors aren't boybands, they have more girls than guys in both groups)
