The trailer for the new Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez comedy "Gigli" is out.Well actually it's from "Access Hollywood" but still.I'm not a big J. Lo/B. Aff fan but this one looks hilarious.Maybe I'm just tired.I don't know.

I read a plot review in YM magazine and the premise sounded really stupid. ben as a hit man?

I've been hearing bad things about this movie. Those "test runs" (I'm calling it a "test run" because I don't know the actual name) where they show bits of the movie to audiences, have received less than favorable results. I'll have to dig up one of the articles I've read this from and post it here. I hear Jersey Girl with Ben and Jen is gonna be super. But I dunno... we'll have to watch both of them and then find out!

Okay, I found an article. It's from April and supposedly the movie was going to be called something else. Keep in mind the writer isn't a J. Lo fan so I think she is secretly hoping the movie will fail:

Perhaps this is the beginning of the end for the super couple. It seems that although Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck started their relationship on the set of their upcoming movie Gigli (now changed to Tough love), that may be the very thing that shoves them off of Hollywood's "darling couple" list.
Jennifer's plot to take over the world came to a screeching halt after test audiences saw a preview screening of the flick and thought it was terrible. Apparently, not only is the story terrible, but the dialogue left audiences feeling queasy to say the least.

The movie is basically about a New York gangster who's being investigated by the District Attorney. He hires thug Larry Gigli (Affleck) to kidnap the DA's ******** younger brother Brian (Justin Bartha). When Gigli completes the job, he brings the kid back to L.A. with him and because the gangster is afraid that Gigli will screw up somehow, he hires Ricki (Lopez), a lesbian, to keep an eye on things. Of course, Gigli manages to convert Ricki to the hetero world and the ******** child ends up having a good time with them.

Uh, yeah. I guess it's easy to understand why most people did not take well to the film. Nevertheless, this is only one of two films that Madonna and Sean Penn, oops, I mean J.Lo and Affleck did together. Tough Love is set for release in August 2003, while Jersey Girl is set for release in November 2003.

The trailer looks funny, but the plot looks a little...ummm, odd.

If this movie sounds terrible, it makes u wonder why Al Pacino is also in it. J-Lo's movies are terrible anyway. Only movies i liked her in was Money Train & Out Of Sight. I wanna see her Enough movie. J-Lo is a lesbian in Gigli? LOL.

It said in a news article after the film didn't do well with test audiences- they re-filmed the ending, which the audiences hated even more. Which ending will be used? They'll probably use the alternate ending pitch to get a bestsellers dvd on the market. Or do a little shop of horrors and release the other ending and take it away 3 days later. It could happen- the producer and director DID fiGht over the ending, so who knows. Many news presenters talking about the filmadapt their own way for pronouncing the title.

The previews make it look alright, but I read this review and the guy absolutely hated it, he called it the worst movie in the past three years.

I think this movie looks dumb my girl friend wants to see it so i will have to go i want to see how much Al Pacino is in it hes a great actor. tell u what i think when i see it!

It looks dumb. I've seen the trailer a few times and a dozen commercials, and i still have no clue what its about.

Thought I would bump this thread up again, because Lord knows I just can't get enough of Jen And Ben.

Anyhoo, the Internet Movie Database is saying that the critics are lining up to blast this movie. Word is some of them are already calling Gigli one of the "worst movies ever."

I smell blood in the water...
