Default Telemarketers

what are good things to say when they call? i wanna know cuz theyre starting to call alot lately. today some1 similar called and said "hi this is dave from somewhere... how would you like to do this this and this, and have a dinner for two and then stay somewhere for only $99 per person? you also get to play games and blah blah blah" i couldnt think of anything to say so i hung up b4 he was done listing his crappy activities. i think it would be fun to yell at some1 else that keeps telling you about stuff after u said u arent inetersted.

My friend's dad did this once... He pretened like he was interested in the telemarketers deal and kept asking all these questions, and then after like 5 minutes said "Oh sorry, Ia m not interested." and hung up. Or after they are doen saying all the crap they ahve to say (which they say a VERY fast) be like "Oh osorry, let me go get one of my parents." I did that once and the lady on the other end sighed REALLY loud. I was like "Ha! that's what you get for bothering us!" but i didn't say that.

Oh man, when my brother answers it and they ask for my dad, he goes "Thanks a lot for reminding me. He just died last night. What are you thinking? We are mourning!!" its great He also pretends that my parents just got a really messy divorce and he's like, "No, he's not here. He's in jail for beating my mom." Yeah, it's funny when he does it. lol

I've got caller ID, so rarely do I get caught in a telemarketer's net. In the event that I do, I interrupt as politely as I can, and I tell them I'm not interested.
I don't have the heart to hang up or yell at anyone. I sort of feel bad for them. Just doing their jobs I guess.

Thumbs down

Telemarketers are just plain annoying. It would be a cold day in Hell before I became one. For one thing, many people hate people who work in this kind of professions. Second, I wouldn't get a lot of business because I'd probably get a lot of rejections. Whenever my father answers their calls, he simply tells them, "You know, we are not interested and could you please take us off whatever list you have?" He makes it short, simple, and clear and then hangs up.

I know. i'd hate to be one. i mean I hate to even pick up the phone to call a friend, let alone a stranger!

I also heard that telemarketers have their bosses standing right behind them while thye make a call and if a person ahngs up on them, their boss yells at them.

Well I usually just let the answering machine take the call and if it turns out to be someone I want to talk to, I'll pick up the phone. Whenever I do happen to pick up the phone and a telemarketer is on the other end, I'll just say that I'm the babysitter or something and that the homeowners are not home.

Sarah there was one time where the only job i could get was to be a telemarketer and the tric is to say "NO" twice or say "im not interested please take me off your list." They might call back a couple more times but just keep saying it and they will leave ya alone... and they can't call after 9pm it's against the law

I always pick up the phone, and then after they ask to speak to ''so-and-so'' I slam the phone down as hard as I can!!! (teach them!!!)

I've tried doing that before but some of these telemarketers just won't take "NO" for an answer so rather than be rude I just started lying by saying that the homeowners are not in.

Do this. When they call, tell them to hold for a few minutes while you 'discuss' this with your family, and be away for like 20 minutes. When you get back to them, (They'll still be there since they're so pathetic), say "Yea, I'll have a large with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and green peppers, and make that deep dish." When they tell you they're not the pizza guy, say "WHAT??? I spent 20 minutes making this precious decision! This is the last time we order from you!" And hang up. Gives me a laugh every time.

Or like Kayla said, say that that person is dead or had problems like "They were just arrested for a raping spree in our area" or some excuse like that. It's great!
