Andy & Pippa- Where'd they come from? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I'm sure the answer to my question is somewhere but I can't find it. Where in the heck did Andy and Pippa come from? Does Andy have parents? Why is he always taking trips with the girls? Where was he before? Is he a neighbor? What is the deal with him????? Please explain! Same question in regard to Pippa though the answer is a bit more obvious! She is obviously an Australian transfer student to Eastland but why is she living with the girls? (I think she does doesn't she?) If she doens't live with them why is she always around? I was sure they were going to get her in Australia during the Facts of Life Down Under but that didn't happen. So......What is the deal with her???? Thanks for your help!

Well,Andy came when Mrs. G. put up a help wanted sign/ad for some help in the store. So Andy helped out and got the job...That's why he was around all the time..I am not absolutely positive about Pippa but I know she comes from Australia claiming to be a foreign exchange student..(I only know that because I read it on the TV guide) Hope I helped you a little!

Andy originally was just a neighbor the girls befriended in the 6th season (1985). He supposedly helped them in Edna's Edibles. Then after Mrs.G in left in the 8th season (1987) Beverly Ann gradually grew a liking to him, then when his foster parents split up Bev adopted him, so he was around all the time because Beverly Ann was his guardian. Pippa just showed up in the 9th season (1988) claiming to be a exchange student from their sister school in Austrailia. The girls took a liking to her and befriended her. I think she lived in the Easland dorm if I remember correctly as explained in the final episode. If she didn't I think it would've been really wrote bad if 14 year old Andy was living in the same house with a hot girl his age living next to him!
