Exclamation Beverly Ann

I hope I don't get blasted by everyone for writing this, but I've really enjoyed Beverly Ann's character in these last couple of episodes. Granted she isn't Mrs. Garrett, but she doesn't try to be. She is crazy and has fun with herself. So personally I think she is a good replacement for Mrs. G. Since she had to be replaced. And I loved Andy also, I think he was funny and cute. Any other supporters out there?

Well I have mixed feelings about Beverly Ann. I mean she is kinda funny but I just don't understand WHY Mrs G had to be replaced. I mean like in the episode with Blair's 21 birthday- where was Mrs G. She seemed to be in and out with the last season she was in so it seems to me the girls managed to do things on their own. I don't really see why they needed to bring Beverly Ann in at all.

Blair: A Warner is like a delicate soufle
Jo: Yeah light and empty

Nat: I'd rather be a happy magic marker than a skinny pencil

Beverly Ann is no Mrs. Garrett, but we all know that. I guess at that point there was really no reason to have anyone new at all, but Beverly Ann isn't that bad. She's had some funny stuff so far. She's not really necessary, but it could've been worse. Even Mrs. G. became pretty much obselete towards the end there, I mean she had nothing to do with their lives at all. And I've always liked Andy too, never had anything against him.

Cool

I agree that they didn't need Beverly Ann, too. But I liked her. She was a new fresh face. There isn't anyone who could've replaced Mrs. Garrett but Beverly Ann was a good choice, in my opinion.

Tonight, 12/5--for all of you non-Beverly Ann supporters out there, Beverly gets poisoned with hot cocoa in the Seven Little Indians episode I mentioned earlier last week. I figured some people might want to see her get killed off(even if it's for a short time, lol)

I think I as well have very mixed feelings about her. I think they give her too much camera time. Yeah she's ok every now and then but I just think they include her too much. And actually, I thought I HATED Andy but he is actually really funny! I think I almost like it better WITH him! Even for you NON-andy supporters you gotta admit he's a hoot sometimes! Beverly Ann on the other hand is just ditzy and annoying and takes up to much CAMERA TIME (like I said before)

I laughed so hard last night when Beverly Ann slapped at Blair (holding paper) when she was in shock about her dad! It was so funny....the look on Blair's face. Also when she sold Jo's term paper and she had to run after that bus to get it! She'S funny...you can't compare her to Mrs. G. but we're not supposed to...she's a atotally different character.

I know with the Jo running after the bus
Jo: The bus couldn't have been more than 20 blocks away!
Bev Ann:Oh Good
That was funny.
And the look on all the girls faces when she slapped that paper. And Jo's comment
Jo: Its ok Blair your with your friends...and Beverly Ann.
Practically on the floor laughing. Ha ha ha. But I do agree that she can be so annoying. Like it was funny when she was fumbling over the double meaning of certain words ie
Bev Ann: I'm easy- uh I mean...
But still it gets annoying after a while sort of like shut up already. Oh well I guess a little comic relief (from a comedy? I dont know) never hurt anyone.

I agree! She's not Mrs. Garrett, but she's still pretty funny. Especially when she slapped Blair.

well i do have to say taht i am somewhat enjoying beverly ann... BUT i will never say that i like her better than mrs. g!!!!! I loved last nights ep when seh had to mess up andys grandmas little figurine thingys!!!! I Laughed My Ass Off!!!! OMG!!! it was soo funny!!! its nice to see there is somebody around the girls who isnt afraid to swear or lie (she kinda did but she was SOOOO like mrs. g when she said I WONT LIE!!!! and then she did!! hehe) and she talks to them like they are her own age which mrs. g kinda had a hard time doing becuase she knew the girls since they were young and still girls and as they got older it was kinda hard for her to treat them like young women although i thought she adjusted to that pretty well!!! Especially in the working it out ep where she let go of blair in a sense... so mrs. g did handle that pretty well but still since bev didnt know them that well she just started talkign abotu sex right out in the open and swearing and stuff... i mean bevs more open and stuff but i mean... you cant honestly say that you somewhat miss mrs. g!! cuz i do in a sense that it feels like a completely different show... i mean you BARELY ever saw mrs. g in season 7 with the new shop so it feels liek whole new scene, characters in a sense and all that so it feels liek a whoel different show... but i will still miss mrs. g and TG the series starts over December 27th... mark your calendars!!!!

------------------
jo: mrs. g gone on ahead I KNOW i can fix the problem
MRs. G: jo only twice in my life have i spoke in an arbitrary manner, once when my ex husband morgaged our home to pay the bookee, and now, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE OR I'LL BEAT YOU WITH MY FRYING PAN!!!

Tootie: (laughing at nat for her hat)waht should i have said?
jo: (gets up and laughs)
blair: nice hat!! (laughs)
Nat: waths wrong with it? (takes it off and looks at it) Oh good good!!! I'm loosing a bolt im working half wattage!!

blair: now jo i know we usually dont agree but that was a scuzy thing for your mother to do!
tootie: wahts so scuzy about it!?!? dont you read the national enquirer, some of the best peopel are Shacking up!!

Me personally, I liked Beverly Ann better because she was funnier. But there was a big void when Mrs. Garrett left the show, I'll admit. But many people blame Beverly Ann for making the show bad but she shouldn't be fully blamed. A lot of people liked Charlotte Rae better but the writers should be to blame, too and everyone was getting older, even the show. Usually shows that are older start losing ratings. I liked the show a lot and still do. It's one of the best but I don't think Beverly Ann should get so much heat. That's my opinion. I mean, a lot of you are starting to like Beverly Ann now, right? She sorta grows on you! So like Peace, give Beverly Ann a chance! lol

I always like Cloris Leachman from Mary Tyler Moore and I do enjoy Beverly Ann, but I definitely agree with the previous poster that shows start losing something when they're on for long as FOL was that you can't just blame one person. Even the greatest shows were not as good towards the end as they were in the beginning. Today, most shows can't even come close to the quality of shows from the FOl era.

Somewhere around the first season they were in Edna's Edibles Mrs. Garrett became unnecessary. She was great while they were at Eastland, and of course when she told Jo to get the hell out of there before she beat her with her frying pan, but there was just nothing left for her to do except walk around and act all kookie and weird. Like when she was trying to study for her finals and stuff. I think Beverly Ann was a good addition, unfortunately, she was added too late so the show had nothing left by then.

Well, I never said I didn't like her, since I had never really seen her on FOL. I've always loved Cloris Leachman and I knew I'd like her on the Facts. And I do. I was always kind of neutral with Mrs. Garrett. Some episodes, Mrs. G was hilarious. Others, she was just annoying. Take the first season. I love the first season, but Mrs. G was annoying as ever. Anyway, I don't think Beverly Anne is ever annoying, and I definitely like her more than Mrs. Garrett.
