Post Flood 'em with mail

I just wrote my letter to Nick at Nite (well...email) and I'm hoping everyone else will too.

Please remember that insulting them will not bring any results, so let's try to write calm, mature letters that show our disapointment. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar! I made the suggestion of a late-night marathon, since they're SOOO concerned about the contents of the eps.

Anyway, I tried! Here's the addy in case someone needs it.

I already did on saturday and i havent gotten anythign back but here's what I wrote...

Dear Nick at Nite,
I have one major question that has been bugging me forever and now I need to know the answer more than ever!! Why do you skip these episodes of the Facts of Life?

Dope
Breaking Point
Fear Strikes Back
Front Page
The Affair
The Facts of Life Goes to Paris 1-4
The Source
Let's Party
Best Sister 1 and 2
I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can
Taking a Chance on Love 1 and 2
With A Little Help From My Friends
Men For All Seasons (this was SUPPOSED to air but didn't)
A New Life
Ready or Not
Wedding Day (this was SUPPOSED to air but didnt)
Post-Christmas Card
Rumor Has It
The First Time
On the Edge

These episodes seem to deal with drugs, sex, alcohol, suicide, rape, and other big situations... If the answer is because a lot of kids watch the Facts of Life and you don't want them to see episodes with these things in them that is bull, because you play All in the Family which has a suicide episode I believe that you played... And in All in the Family they always have constant swearing!! And you also play Three's Company which has a constant reference to sex and I have even seen the episode where they have a marijuana plant that they didn't know and they thought it was Mr. Roper or Mr. Furley's which ever season it was in. And you seem to play episode on other TV shows that deal with the same things except for the Facts of Life you leave episodes out. Like I asked before, why is that? And my next question is will these episodes EVER be played?? What would it take you to consider playing these episodes if you aren't going to already??

Thank you for your time!

~longtime Nick at Nite fan and New Facts of Life fan~

this was my email to them

why are you guys skipping some of the more talked about episodes of the show?

You can bring up content, but is "The First Time" or "Dope" really any more offensive than a typical episode of Three's Company (which I do love) or All In The Family?

The Facts Of Life fan-board wants these episodes. "The First Time" was the highest rated episode in The Facts' history, which was very impressive considering the final season was not very successful.

Please go to SitcomsOnline.com and check out the message board of Facts Of Life. The board is flooded with fans, and many of them are disapointed that we will never get to see these episodes.

You know what really ticks me off? The fact that Three's Company is loaded with sexual content and sexual innuendo and they have no problems showing that. And All In The Family, jeez, offensive! How about WKRP? Dr.Johnny Fever was a druggie! I think the reason why they are skipping these episodes is because of their time slot. Why don't we ask that they show the controversial episodes at 2AM?

well lets wait to bite their heads off MAJORLY until after e second run is done... who knows maybe they will air seom of these episodes this time... they never said that they woudl NEVER air these episodes... ti took 3 runs of the brady bunch for them to air the episode where greg tried cigarretts... and it took 3 runs of all in the family to show the episodes they are right now... i mean if you think about it it's only the first run of the facts of life EVER and they might be just saving the good episodes for later... let's just wait and see before we chop their dicks off k?

Like I've said before, I have humungous doubts that they will ever show Dope, no matter how many runs they go through. L&S just finished its 5th or 6th run on N@N last night and it has never shown its marijuana episode. Lord knows why. I have the script for that episode and it obviously gets the message that marijuana is NOT good across. Anyway, no offense, but if they do show Dope I will be extremely angry. But I don't see any reason not to show the marijuana episodes of both FOL AND L&S. And I see no reason whatsoever not to show the other FOL episodes Sara mentioned. Those issues in those episodes were alive in the 80's, but now those issues are all you hear about. It would be a clean way to tell kids and teenagers about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. (Well, not CLEAN, but CLEANER) Anyway, I'll definitely email N@N about the issue (along with my L&S complaint)

They showed the "Teenage Prostitution" episode a few months back, so I dont see any reason why they cant show "Dope", "the first time", ect.

Stanley Roper: I'm sorry Jack

Jack Tripper: Oh, thats ok, what did you do?

Roper: Me? Nothing, I just thought I saw something that wasnt normal, because it was normal, but, now I can see it aint normal, so, everything's back to normal again.

Jack: oh, well, I'm glad for you.

They must think were way too immature to watch a 'controversial' episode of 'The Facts Of Life', but old enough to watch and listen to the racial slurs on 'All in the Family'?
Arent they being a bit hypocritical?
Yes, they most likely will show the episodes they skipped in the 2nd and 3rd runs, but they are certainly making it out to be that they never will.
In the end , maybe this is just a major ploy to maintain viewers, I dont know. I still think N@N sucks.
But i'm just thankful they chose Facts of Life over Diff'rent Strokes.(hope that does'nt offend anyone, DS is a good show, but not as classic as FOL).

I still think everything boils down to ratings for N@N. I thought I read somewhere that they were saving some of the more popular or controversial episodes for the 2nd run through in order to keep the audience interest up. I know many of us are taping the eps and will have to watch the 2nd time around to catch the shows we missed.

It does suck that they are editing the shows and skipping so many of the good eps.
