Default Vicki's Death

Ugh. What was the point of having Peter come back to 1970? I mean can't they just have things like they originally were - Peter and Vicki living happily ever after? I see no point in saying a character who hasn't been on the show for 14 months is dead. It seemed like the only reason they even mentioned it was so they could have an excuse to bring Peter back.

It makes no sense ... Jeb wasn't in human form in 1797 (which is supposed to be 1795 ... writers kept referring to it as 1797 in 1970 for some reason). How could he have killed Vicki? *shrug* *slaps writers* It was so stupid killing her off ... I mean she was one of the original core characters and just killing her off like THAT was so stupid. imo.

At the time the actress Alexandra Moltke wanted to leave. She'd had it with the show. They kept on bringing characters to replace Victoria but, the people (at the time) didn't want to see a replacement they wanted Alexandra. So that's why the writers did what they did.

I know she left, but they killed the character off almost a year and a half after her departure and fourteen months after Vicki's departure. It just doesn't make sense, especially since a lot of fans who came in during 1897 wouldn't even know who Vicki is.

The Leviathan storyline is so O_Oish to me. Sometimes it's great, but sometimes like recently it's just really dumb, imo. Like the part in which Bruno was whipping the werewolf. Too bad the werewolf didn't kill Jeb and then come after Bruno. The fact that Jeb wasn't even a living, breathing person in 1795/6/7 just complicates things so much more. Thank God this storyline will be over at the end of next week. No offense to anyone who likes the storyline.

I agree. They are hardly using the main characters. IMO, too much is focused on Jeb. He's like the Sonny Corinthos of The Leviathans! Sean, would you please enlighten us on 1970PT?

Well 1970PT is sort of a Rebecca type plot - similar to Night of Dark Shadows. Quentin and Maggie are married in 1970PT but she's haunted by the memory of his first wife, Angelique Stokes Collins (I believe the melody heard today in the PT room is the song "Ode to Angelique"). Things only get worse when her sister, Alexis Stokes, comes to Collinwood. There is a odd scene later on this month where Lara Parker meets...Lara Parker's stand-in.

There is also a Jackel/Hyde type storyline with Christopher Pennock.

That's like the set up for the plot. I don't want to give anything away that I've read. ^-^ There's always http://www.darkshadows.com and their episode guide if you want to find out more.

if memory serves me correctly, quentin falls for alexis when she arrives. she then goes to see her twin's grave and that is when angelique comes back to life and kills alexis. thus returns to quentin and to trouble everyone, pretending to be alexis.

i couldn't see the point of peter bradford either but i can see 1797. by the time the storyline ended, it was 1796. by listening to the dialog, you get the impression that vickie and peter had time together, so 1797 may be a possibility before her death.

now as for jeb in 1797, that is stupid. it had already been said that barnabas was the way to bring the leader into the future. where was barnabas in 1797? chained up in his coffin. so how did jeb get there in his physical body? i see no reasonable explanation. somebody screwed up.

I can see that and I didn't think of it that way. However, from this point forward they reference 1795/6 as also being 1797. Maybe they used 1797 instead of 1795 because 1797 is exactly 100 years before 1897? *shrugs* You'd think someone would've noticed if it was a mistake.

Hello

I read that Alexandra was asked by Dan Curtis (after she had the baby)
to reprise the Victoria roll. When Alexandra asked if Victoria would have a wider range and different protrals he said no Vicki was to stay as is. Alexandra turned down the request to return and Dan killed off Our beloved Victoria Winters forever.

The biggest mistake Dan Curtis did, only second to losing David Hensey. The male child was the link between the Collins generations when Tad flew the coop the link was broken. No future Collins'.

Yes, I've read about that. Too bad AM didn't get the chance to play a evil/bad character. I liked it very much when they had Joel Crothers go from the nice Joe Haskell to the gold-digging Nathan Forbes.
