Question Western Ghosts

Hey everyone. Anyone remember the episode where the family lived in that haunted house, out in Nevada or Colorado? I remember a little bit, like when the family took photos of their baby and the face of an unknown man took up an entire picture; another scary moment was when a boy living in the house heard laughter (I think) and someone behind him. When he ran out of the house, he looked back and saw a man staring at him through the window. Creepy! That's about all I remember, though?

Anyone wanna put up a synopsis of that story? I'd appreciate it. And yes, the UM theme from the late-80's scared the hell out of me -- and still does!

I don't think I've seen this episode before... but that sure sounds freaky!! Imagine taking a picture of your kid and finding a stranger in it instead...

Hey Beetlejuice, I remember seeing that story a few times!

I don' recall too many more details than you, but I do remember the pictures that the mom was taking of her infant, and a guy's face wound up on one of the pictures. I remember his face pretty well; he looked old-fashioned and MEAN, like some guy from 19th century England that chased kids out of his front yard with a butcher knife. Of course this was a UM prop, but it was still creepy. I also remember the little boy coming home from school and actually being chased back outside of his house by a ghost or ghosts. One of the spirits looked outside the front window of the house and had this smirk on his face.

I think I recall the family calling in a psychic and the psychic communicating with three spirits. But I could be wrong.

Red face

I just remembered that info about the three ghosts you mentioned. Actually, I remember a lot about it because it gave me nightmares for a long time -- though I couldn't remember if it was for that episode or not. It was, and I think the story goes that the family hired a psychic to come to the house and enter into a trance. He did this twice, I think, but on one occassion he communicated with three malevolent spirits who, he claimed, were "mischevous". I remember the faces of the spirits (the actors portraying the ghosts) and good lord, did they scare me!

That's about all I remember. I think the story of the house made the newspapers for Halloween, according to the UM episode, and weird stuff happened afterwards. I might be wrong, though. I think this should serve as a reminder of two things:

1) Don't get involved with ghosts

and 2) If you see or hear any activity that you cannot explain -- RUN LIKE HELL, MAN!

The Nevada house segment aired today. It was in bad quality on my tv....The segment stalled and got scrambled at different times. Nonetheless, it was still nice to see it again.

I seem to remember that UM had a photo expert examine the picture and he thought it was a hoax created by large projection screen TV since there were obvious vertical lines and pixels visable in the image. Regardless, in my opinion, this is the scariest ghost story UM has ever profiled.

Surprisingly no. I've complained about it before. This is by far the scariest ghost segment they ever aired and they did not include it on the GHOSTS DVD.

Default Thank You

I've been looking for years for information about this episode. This search has led me to this forum today. I bought the Ghost dvd in hopes to find it, I'm disappointed it wasn't there.

As I remember, the story went something like this:

A family lived in this house and experienced many strange events. Eventually, a psychic came into their home and put himself into a trance. When he came out of the trance, he described his meeting with a bearded man. (He had a name, I can't remember it) The man said he was there only to protect the young child of the family. When told he was scaring the family, he apologized and said that he would be quiet. After that, the hauntings stopped. A few years later, the family moved out of the house. When the mother was taking pictures of one of her children, she got her photos back, and the very first picture out of the package was the face of the bearded man. As if he was letting the family know that he was still with them.

ooooh, I get chills thinking about it.

Reading this post gave me chill bumps again too! I remember this case. When the boy ran out of the house, I seem to remember the door opening and closing and that face looking out smiling. The three ghosts were troublemakers back in their day. I was in Middle School when this one aired and I was home alone! I wouldn't leave the living room of the house until two hours later when my mom came home from work. I got chills reading this one again! Thanks for the scare.

From what everyone else was saying on this forum, it seems this ghost story got pushed aside on the UM: Ghosts dvd's because the shows producers only wanted stories that had a following of activity, witnesses, and have stood out through time. Maybe because this story was only from the families words did they think this wasn't the right story to be included. Then again we can all be wrong and it was a grave oversight from the producers.
It is a little disapointing, it just makes the set incomplete.

Can anyone remember the name of the ghost who was the friendly one? (Not Casper, smartass) The man who appeared in the photograph. What was his name?

But didn't the first ghost appear with a little girl ghost at one time? I seem to recall that happening, according to one of the people who lived there.
