Im sure you have heard of the free music opportunities on the net like Nabster and WinMX do you guys download free music??? Do u think that it is wrong??? I do it! And yes it is stealing, but hey these people are millionares already so what's the big deal. I think the companies are the real thiefs. We are just innocent by standars who are reeping the free benefits. Im trying to get as many songs as I can before this opportunity is gone

i do it. i dont consider it stealing though. If a song can't be bought on a cd, then I'm not taking away from anything. (i.e. AI songs) .. and for songs that are on Cds, If i like the song.. I buy the Cd.

Absolutely. I have a huge CD and record collection, and I use file-swapping services to find out if I'm going to like an album before I buy it. I've totally given up on radio stations and music video cable channels, because they're all corporate whores whose playlists are bought and sold by the record labels. Too many times I've sold my CDs back to the store because the album-tracks were unbearable and the only good song was the single.
I also don't feel guilty in the slightest for downloading things that are out-of-print. I'd pay for it if it was available... The RIAA should be ashamed of themselves, by the way. It's their own fault MP3s have become such a problem for them. $20 for one CD? Good lord, that's a lot of money. Lower your prices, RIAA, and support the good artists. Then the consumers will come back to the record stores. |

Music is free on the radio if you want to record it onto an audio cassette. The only difference between that and computer downloading is that it takes a hell of a lot longer to actually download the song, you have to have a computer, and you have to have internet access that you pay for every month. That amounts to a lot more than buying every single CD you want.

ummm ok...
but yor forgetting one thing... who has time to sit by the radio all day waiting for them to play a song that they will talk all over anyway in the begining and usually cut off in the end before it is finished... Im not going to buy cassette tapes ever again.. those are the 8 tracks of the 90's

I do it. I think if you can record songs off the radio, the computer should be considered a legal device to "record" songs so to speak. All the music sharing programs won't get shut down because a lot of them share more than music and even if they do you still keep all the songs you already have.
How many songs do people have downloaded by the way? I have around 700 right now. |
