Smile Felice(Nancy), Julie (Sue Ann) and Julie Ann(Cindy) got a raw deal

Watching the episodes after the first season and seeing nancy, cindy and sueann treated as under fives after they were initially stars of the series must of been insulting to the actresses(especially Felice since she was the first girl to be cast, however she made more cameos and had more lines than the other two after they were brought back occasionally in the 2nd and 3rd season)..It got sickening having blair,jo,natalie and tootie hogging the screen all the time.I thought they should of at least appeared on the graduation from eastland episode but they were know where to be found. until 1997 when all the orig girls cameback(except molly of course) for a slumber party reunion above edna's edibles.

You know what? I have said the same thing for years. It's too for bad Sue Ann, Cindy & Nancy. In the first season, there were episodes that focused on each individual. Nancy was the only one who shared the spotlight with Blair ,Jo, Mrs. Garrett and Tootie in episode 29(Gossip) in which Tootie started a rumor that Blair was sneaking off to go see Berishnecoff(don't mind my spelling) in NYC with Roger, Nancy's boyfriend. This infuriated Nancy of course and she retaliated by shoving a big scoop of ice down Blair's blouse. Of course Blair blamed Jo because only Jo was supposed to know. Molly's last appearance was in Episode 16(New Girl Part 2). I also think it was a raw deal.

That was a classic scene when Nancy shoved the ice down Blair's chest, nick@nite must of thought so too since there replaying that during previews of the nick@nite tv schedule. I remember missing the other girls after the first season and thought they should of stayed recurring and had the focus on them every once in a while to represent the other girls problems at eastland besides the 4 musketeers.

I was also disappointed to see them
reduced to ocassional appearances
and then dumped altogether.It really
didnt make any sense. They were always
bringing in new people such as
geri,kelly,etc.If they felt a need
to bring in other people, why not just
bring in the original girks,who
were students at Eastland anyway?
They probably felt that the show
was going into too many different
directions having so many main
characters.By trimming it down to
just thefour girls,they could write
tighter more effective storylines.

The reason those first season girls got canned was because they did not have the chemistry together needed to make the show as successful as it was without them. There were no extremes. Jo and Blair balanced each other nicely and provided much laughter. Its all in the casting. The dynamics in Facts of Life were not good until Jo joined the school. Nancy and Cindy and Sue Anne were simply not very funny.

I was a viewer to FOL when it was on NBC back in 1980. When I saw the first Jo episodes I thought all Nancy, SueAnn, and the rest of the dropped girls had been dropped totally and were never seen again on the show. Not until this year when I saw some of Nick at Nite's marathon did I spot some of the dropped girls in a Jo episode! I didn't believe my eyes! At first I took them to be girls who looked lke the original cast.It was only when I came to this website did I first learn they stayed on the show well into the Jo years. Anyone else think they were totally dropped when Jo came on?
