Post NIck at Nite skipping eps

I was just wondering, does anyone who is on this board have a prob with watching mature themed episodes(those that deal with drugs, the one with Natalies attemped rape, the one where Nat has sex etc..) because NN seems to be skipping these episodes. I know a lot of the fans of the show are like me(I am 24 and watched the show orginally in Elem school, or are even older. But I also know there are second generation fans.
I remembe r seeing "The First time at age 11 and my parents did not have a problem with me watching it. So To those of you who are under 18, esp the younger teens, would you or your parents have a prob with seeing those eps. I think Nick at nite is skpping them for that reason(that there are second generation and younger fans watching) maybe if they knew you or your parents would not object to seeing those eps they would air them.
Nothing bad happens in any of them the topics are dealt with in a very mature way. And I would like to see those episodes again and I feel Nick at Nite is treating us somewhat like children by not showing them.

The latest word is that N@N is skipping the controversial episodes now and showing them during the next run through so people will watch the next run through of the show, and ratings won't drop.

If N@N showed all the episodes now, many people would tape them, and not watch Nick again. So, they're staggering the run and showing all the good **** next time around.

Sucks, I know, but it's good business.

...but I still hate them for chopping the episodes up.

I think it has nothing to do with whether the episode was controversial or not because if you sat down and watched any show being produced now, they would deal with similar content, but in a more controversal manner. Just look at all the shows that are geared to the same audience that FOL was geared towards. N@N is only looking at the dollar signs they are racking up. Also, I've always considered N@N to be geared more towards adults anyway because their playing old tv shows. Oh, and I'm 20, but if my mom liked the FOL she would've let me watch it when I was little, but for some unexplainable reason she hated the show and I didn't have a lot of say about what I wanted to watch when I was 7.

I tend to agree with Obselete man on this one. It's all a ratings game. They don't want to give us everything right away. They have to leave us begging for more so we all sit in front of our TV's every night from 10-11 waiting for those few episodes they skipped the last time around. It's smart. We'll keep watching and waiting for the ones they skipped, and it also gives us something to look forward to as opposed to seeing everything and then being sad that there's nothing left.

I KNOW!!! They're skipping alot of episodes!!! I just remembered about that "Dope" episode!!! Why in the heak are they doing this?? USA NETWORK didn't skip none, I thing its because the N@N rating is TVG and the USA Network is TVPG-D. If thats the reason why don't nick@nite rate it PG or something!!! I want to see every episode!!! Not just a few!!! They're skipping almost 10 'episodes'!!! They own every episode--give it to the viewers!!! Am I Right? Let me know in a reply in the repost here!!!

yeah, i just went to e! online (where they have a listing of shows that will be on within the next two weeks and i saw that N@N is skipping "the first time"! that really makes me mad. i mean, i am a second generation watcher, so i never saw it the original time they aired it. i've heard it was a pretty good episode and i really wanted to see it. that upsets me. so, does anyone know when N@N is going to air all the shows for a second time? i mean, are they going to start them up again right after the first run through is over with?

I am very ticked off they are not showing THE FIRST TIME. That episode was the highest rated FOL episode EVER, very impressive especially considering how low the last season usually was ratingswise. So for them to skip that, yet show every season 1 episode save the one that had Helen Hunt on it is a mistake.

Well I must say, NAN did stir up some controversy with skipping episodes. Look it made some people angry on this board. I hope NAN airs the other episodes in sequential order this time.

No, I don't think it is ratings, becasue they are starting the second run thru on Dec 27th and they are skipping Dope again(one of the "contreversial first season eps) I think it is verrry suspicious that it is only the eps that deal with sex, drugs, suicde etc.. that are skipped. Which I don't get because Nick at Nite goes on and on about how they are not Nickelodeon and they are not a kids network, but they sure act like it sometimes.

Where's yer info coming from?

Nick at Nite hasn't even out up their official schedule yet for Dec. 27th. It only goes up to about Dec. 22 as of now.

But if it's true, this sucks. Nick at Nite sucks. Not only do they chop up episodes, but they don't even air anything with a hint of controversy?

Put Facts on TV Land. TV Land will air every episode. They did it with All in the Family, without cutting very much of the episode.

Thats Right "THE T". They're showing shows that deal with that. Look at All In The Family, they talk about sex, rape, Exsplisit Lanuage and Violence & Drugs! And they also show Three's Company, if the reason they're not showing those episodes because its a kids network because they're involving sex and Killing and Drugs, Why do they show Three's Company that shows 2 Girls A Guy Lving Together... and talking about exsplit sexual content every other word... why Nickeloden is that better than showing the contraversial episodes of FOL? Get a Life N@Nite!!! They're showing shows that deal with that kind of stuff but not FOL episodes!!!!! Lets all e-mail nick@nite and give them a piece of our mind!!! AM I RIGHT?? Let me Know!
