Default You mail first

Almost all of the people I've traded with, newbies and "oldies" alike, have waited until they've received my tapes before even making theirs for me, without clarifying this initially except in the fine point, if you will, on their websites. I realize many do this as a rule. So, is it the guy at the bottom of the totem pole that always has to stick his neck out? Have any of you locked horns with someone because neither one of you would send first? Have you missed out on great trades because neither side would give in?

Tape trading is risky, but I think it's worth the risk involved.

For Me Personally I wouldnt say that towards myself.
But I can say that with me doing this, Ive managed (I think thats the word Im looking for) to Not get ripped in some trades.

The dude would say that he has sent but yet I never recieve anything, or ever get an email back.

I do that sometimes still tho.
I Very Rarely send first, Or @ the same time. Unless the person is a WELL known trader and/or has Good Refs.

This kinda proves my view of it, Why bother making tapes for people if they never do send or whatnot. Then your just stuck with tapes that you have to try to get rid of.

You know

Unless there is a pre-agreement by both traders the only fair way to trade is for the trader that makes the initial offer to send theirs first.

If I respond to someones post and they have something I want and I have something to trade them, it's on me to send out first unless they agreed to do so instead.

If it were the other way around it would be like walking into a store and telling the clerk "I want this soda, after I drink it I'll pay you".

YEAH RIGHT!!!

I actually had someone start a deal with me where they wanted something I had taped originally myself. When I told them the total ($10!) they said Okay send the tape and after I review it for quality purposes I'll send you payment.

I was like, uh, sorry. That's just not the way to work things.

I love it too! It won't let me fit the entire quote she says "God will get you for that..." but I figured that was good enough.

Cool

I usually send first. I had this one trade where the other guy sent first. But I am ususally the one who sends first.

I think both people should decide on a particualr day to mail the tape or tapes out. That's how i like to do it.
