I love what I do, but nothing beats getting home and seeing the people and places that you love the most.

And getting things most people take for granted...

yeah, i'm pretty dark...but i've got that farmers tan thing going...

when we landed back at base, several of the wives had about 10 gallons of ice cream for us. apparently several guys wrote back saying they missed it. I didn't miss it until I saw it. Man that was probably the best ice cream i've ever had

Its kind of funny how you never really want something until you can't have it. I never really had to have any type of food or luxury or anything like that...but while over there, MAN did I just want a cold beer

yes I remember that saying. We had some at the pier thanks to some navy wives, and we had some at the hanger thanks to the wives/girl friends/moms of the guys in my platoon.
