Default Screen Gems Logo

It is nice to see that Sony Pictures has decided not to obliterate the classic Moog synthesized Screen Gems closing logo from many of the episodes being shown this weekend. It's almost as classic as the series itself at this point.

That thing used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid. And it was attached to all the shows I liked back then ("I Dream of Jeannie", "The Flintstones", "The Partridge Family", etc.). I was always rushing to turn the TV off before the logo came on.

I was just thinking last night how nice it is to see that again, for the first time in YEARS! (and, I don't EVER remember seeing it in color!) I wonder if Larry David (the president of N@N & TV LAND)had something to do with it being shown again?

I wonder if they'll also show it after I Dream of Jeannie, since that was also made by Screen Gems.

Years ago, when I was in first and second grade(late 1970's),I used to watch Bewitched and The Partridge Family and I liked the Screen Gems logo coming across the screen and it was in a white background and the logo was huge to me,literally huge. Boy, I wish that I could get TV Land!!! At least, they aren't using the new Sony Entertainment Productions logo.

They are.

The Screen Gems logo is immediately followed by the new Sony Entertainment stuff.

LOL, happens to the best of us. I was thinking that Larry David would be too busy with his HBO show to be a double network president.

Unfortunately the B&W Bewitched eps are not airing w/ any Screen Gems logo. Before the "S" logo, Screen Gems used a logo w/ a lot of sticks dancing w/ a different tune. I think the "S" was also in B&W, so I'm not sure which was originally used on Bewitched. BTW, I've found web pages of kids who were terrorized by the "S from Hell". That's pretty funny but also believable. I don't remember being scared by that logo, but a lot of the action on SG's I Dream of Jeannie was pretty intense for me as a little kid, especially the nasty stuff that Jeannie's sister did to Tony and the other intense situations that Jeannie often put Tony into as well.
