Everyone's been talking about the "Joe Blows" two-parter, and how it was such a great showcase for Tim Daly and his "Joe Hackett" character....which it certainly WAS!
However, let's not forget that this two-part story was also a BIG turning point in Steven Weber's "Brian" character as well....You could say that Brian "grows up" in this story. Becoming part-owner of Sandpiper Airlines made Brian a more responsible person...and he certainly paid his dues to get there while Joe was off partying! The more I watch these "Wings" episodes, the more I love the fact that the characters never seem to get stale....They're ALWAYS developing and showing us new and different character traits that we didn't know they had. |

yeah! I agree with you! I really enjoyed Brian in this episode- how he took on the role of the responsible one and took care of the airline while Joe was gone, and then went to look for Joe and tried to talk some sense into him, and talk him into coming home.
I like the 3-dimensionalism of the characters on this show. Brian is usually the one who's always having fun, and kind of shuns responsibility... but if he were like that ALL the time, he would be boring. I like it when his more mature responsible side comes out. The writers do a great job of giving the Wings characters 3-dimensional and more realistic personalities. ~Krista :o) |

Great stuff. Yep, Brian grew up a lot. He is growing and becoming more mature, and Joe is learning what his limits are. I liked that Brian gave the extra piece of napkin to Joe, though. That was cute. Love, Wing<>< |

Yeah, the splitting the napkin was a great part of the series not to mention this episode(s).

Yes, I agree with all of you. An Emmy for this show was definitely 'omelette'!
