I genuinely apologize for offending anyone

I just took offense at someone telling me to shut up.I didn't know that sharing my acknowledge about show biz or my dad offended so many people.I'm not a snob.I just see the point in lieing.so I tell people the truth and they tell me to shut up.If you would have told me sooner I would have stopped.Penny lane told me alot of people whp like to hear about some of my experiences I didn't think I was hurting someone.Secondly I didn't say all posts were stupid.If anyone hear had something to share that they were proud of I wouldn't have told them to shut up.Should I lie and make up stories,I'm just saying life is tough engough but to tell people that what they share is bragging,its not meant to.If you had any expertise in something That I didn't know alot about I would welcome advice on how to write someone or if it was a computer problem.I know alot about something about sitcoms and show biz I thought I was just sharing fun stuff I didn't know I was bragging so again I apologize for offending anyone.I like talking about fun mundane everyday things to.I just think there was a better way of telling me that I'm not snobbish I have my opinions like everyone right or wrong but I don't tell people to shut up.I cannot appreaciate when you are having a bad day and someone is bragging or showing off you feel like tearing the heart out.So for those I did offend I you all can appreaciate that I thought we all on these boards aren't bragging but just sharing good and bad stuff.So I will take my own advice and not take every board to seriously myself ask of those I pissed off.I apologize and hope you can forgive

The problem as I see it is this: You do come across as "snobbish" since you seem to feel that you can freely pass judgment on others here. You criticize post content of other members, and yet your posts contain repetitive complaints about those apparently (according to you) vapid threads. Chit Chat is a place to forget daily stresses. Or to vent to find release from daily stresses. It is the proper place to gripe about school, parents, friends, relationships, work and bosses and co-workers, or to simply say "I'm bored." It is the proper place to share knowledge and to ask questions. Some topics are more significant than others. Some are goofy. So be it.

True, no one should tell another here to "shut up." However when you (harper) keep repeating over and over about how much you dislike it here, it really should not surprise you when you are told to "shut up." No one likes to be criticized, as is evident by this particular post. You don't to like it much yourself, so why do you expect others here to take your criticism with grace?

My responses don't mean to sound judgemental but I can make a point without hurting someone taste.You are right to vent and say things without hurting someone.So I do understand.I certaintly thing its fun to vent with others so I will keep it light.Iam not a mean person I get impassioned about things and I forget to keep things light.Iam not a Snob and you can ask Penny lane what kind of person Am.I did a favor for her family if I was a snob I wouldn't have extended myself.I realize there is a difference between charing and bragging and I over stepped it not to be cruel though.I just though There is alot of open and honest frank people on the boards and I was just sharing what I know about show biz.If people are asking for advice about things there is no reason for me to lie or make up stories but to give examples using my own life good or bad to make a point but not to act like a know it all which is not my intent.I was wrong so Iam not perfect no one is.So I hope you take my apology to heart and no Iam not a bad person at all.If there is any favor I can for you to show anyone on this board no hard feeling please feel free to ask.

I really am not a snob. I just need to learn just because you know about a subject alot doesn't mean people want to hear about your opinion, whether or not Iam right or wrong.It's O.K to Have Opinions but not to offer it unless its asked.I will try for now on not to be so hard on those opinions I read.It really shouldn't Be used to bash others but to get to know other peoples taste and have fun inneracting with others.If I do have a opinion or advice is asked I only try to be as thoughtful and helpful as I can.I did Penny lane a favor not to show off who my father was but to use his celebrity to make someone else feel good makes it worth it.When Iam a jerk I'll be the first to admit it right behind my wife,son,mother the birds the dogs you get the point!So I hope I can start fresh will you all.again.However if there is any favor I can do for anyone regarding my dad and it's possible I want you to feel free to ask as Penny lane did.I genuinely like helping people if I can.

Harper, I do honestly appreciate your apology.

I'm sorry myself, because there are a few more things I have to say to you. For starters, sweetie pie, if your dad really is who you say he is, that's wonderful. I'm sure you're proud of him and you have every right to be, but don't get all high-and-mighty over it. You're not the only one with a knowledge of films. I myself am majoring in film studies, and am doing a year abroad studying the German cinema. I don't mention this very often, but Harper dear, you asked for it - I am related to a little-known English director. You may have heard of him? His name was ALFRED HITCHCOCK!!!!! Now why don't I mention this very often? Because it hasn't really come up and I think it's rather snobbish to just bring it up. Take a lesson from someone who is actually not that different from you (if you are who you say you are) and don't try to capitalize on the fame of your relatives. It's snobbish, and disrespectful to them. (That's how I feel about it anyway.)

And for God's sake, it is so hard to read posts that run on and on, without spaces and use words like "lieing" and "dieing." I hate to sound like a bitch, but I was an English major and it's a real pet-peeve. For future reference, Harper, it's "lying" and "dying." I know it's small and petty, but it was really bugging me!

Okay, so I'm sorry too for coming down on you. I do believe that you meant well with your posts, and I hope that we can come to a truce.
