Red face We just had an earthquake!!!!!

Western Washington had a 3.4 earthquake 8:50 PDT. I was typing here and the floor shook for a second or two and the building creaked like it was shifting.

OMG. We don't get a lot of earthquakes in San Diego so I can't imagine what it's like. I remember there was one during the night a few years back but I slept through it like a rock.

I hope everything is okay. There was an earthquake here in Alabama about a month ago, and I felt it. My computer screen rattled and it woke me up and the bed was shaking. I thought that it was my heart beating really fast because something had scared me in my sleep....so it didn't hit me that there had been an earthquake until I saw it on the news the next morning.

We were having a lot of earthquakes in Spokane in 2001 (after never having any in over fifty years), but they stopped after about five months. It was a weird experience nonetheless.

The first earthquake I ever felt was the Seattle quake of February, 2001. I was here in Spokane, and the only reason I felt it is because I was on the sixth floor of an old building.

3.7 really isn't that big though... just a couple months ago we had one here in Washington that was a 4.0 or so...

There was an Earhtquake in Southwest Nebraska a few months back that was 2.5, which is weird because Nebraska dosen't get many Eathquakes. I hope everything is ok.

Red face re: Quake

I just felt it for a second. It certainly wasn't anything like the one in February 2001 Which was kind of strange, since it happened after one of the worst days in the history of Seattle when a huge mob in Seattle started rioting in observance of Mardi Gras. One person was killed by some punk for trying to help an injured girl...Brutes. I remember the cops did nothing for that, like in the WTO riots over a year earlier. I haven't yet heard of damage from the quake yet, it was just so quick.

That would hve been freaky. I can't imagine what being in an earthquake would be like because I've never experienced one. The majority of Canada doesn't get earthquakes, but when my Dad and I were visiting in Victoria, BC last August a friend told us that they get earthquakes there sometimes. That freaked me out for a little bit, but then I just figured that I shouldn't worry during the vacation because the odds were probably as high as a tornado coming through Saskatchewan and in all my life that I've lived in Saskatchewan I haven't been through a single tornado.

OMG, that's scary. How much damage could there be if it lasted such a short time?

I was living in Redondo Beach, CA when the Northridge Earthquake occured on January 17, 1994.

It happened at like 4:30 am, my roomates and I had some people over and a couple crashed at our place.

It woke me up like someone was shaking me- I thought someone was- and said outloud, "what do you want?"

We all met in the hallway perplexed and half-asleep.
Before we came to any conclusion as to what to do, the major tremors stopped.
