After the play they all met up in the stairway and they argued about how Zack did care about leaving high-school because according to him, they will keep in touch after school regardless of leaving. The rest of the gang thought otherwise.
After the gang left, Jessie and Lisa were the last two still sitting in the stairway. Jessie made a rude comment about Screech, and Lisa was offended and told her, "If it wasn't for that geek, you wouldn't be valedictorian." After hearing the truth, Jessie felt bad. During the actual ceremony Mr. Belding was the first to speak, and said that the Class of 1993 was his best. After Mr. B, Jessie spoke and came out with the truth, and honored Screech with the Bayside "B" valedictorian medallion. There was also some odd twist, and Zack ended up saying a speech as well. After all the speakes, Mr. Belding gave the class their diplomas. Once all the them got their diplomas, they threw their caps to the air. --- In my opinion this episode was handled very poorly. There was nothing special about it. NBC knew that "SBTB" was a hit, so they should've taped a mini-TV movie for prime-time instead. This episode was rushed, and terrible. I'm glad we got to see "The College Years"--- if it wasn't for that, the "SBTB" finale would of been one of the worst in TV history. |

Going by memory...
Zack and Kelly did not kiss, and there was no mention of Jessie, and Slater's relationship. Nothing happened. |

Resident Jessie and Slater obsessive here to shed a little light...
When they were on the stairs, I seem to recall Slater giving Jessie a sort of half-hug and telling her, "You'll always be my mama." To which she replied. "And you'll always be my papa." (Here she started to get tearful) "Now, get off me, you big pig!" ... Gotta love that girl.

I agree, the graduation episode could have been better, but there have been worse show finales & we did get the College Years. That episode does make me laugh, though, about how they would be the last six to get their diplomas. Don't most schools do it by alphabetical order? Oh, well, I guess you can't watch SBTB for realism, lol.
