Default Does TBS Air

Does TBS air all seasons of Mama?

Right now they are mid season 6 so I would expect that seasn 1 should start soon if they show it.

Just wondering

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Yes, they do. But, they don't show the episode "Gert Rides Again" for some reason that I don't know.

Yeah. They air all seasons, every episode except Gert Rides Again.

I need to finish my collection. I'll probably just re-tape the series. It starts over on 6/2.

I was wondering when season 1 starts over again, because I have blank tapes all ready to go to tape all the episodes!

I was mistaken, the rotation starts over on 5/30.

What stuff happens in "Gert Rides Again"? Is there a script I can read somewhere?

That is so strange that they no longer air "Gert Rides Again." Does anyone remember when they stopped showing it? It seems like it was on not TOO long ago--maybe a year or two? TBS stinks. In more ways than one.

ClesStahn, I think I can tell you what pretty much happens in the episode. I don't know where you could find a script for it though. Maybe it's online somewhere. I know some Mama's Family scripts are kicking around.

Anyways, the episode:

Gert is Thelma's (Oh shoot, I am getting tripped up all ready...) are they long time friends? Or are they cousins? Hmm, cousins it is. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) Gert is played by Imogene Coca. Do you know who that is? Anyhow, Gert lives in an old folks home and, what a pitiful old folks home it is. Gert just sits in her bed all day and does nothing. The Nurses that work there want the residents to live that way. One of the main nurses thinks too much activity is dangerous for them!

Well, Thelma goes to visit Gert and liven things up for her birthday. At first Gert isn't game, but after Thelma gets her birthday party, held in the nursing home auditorium, jazzed up, all the old folks are having fun. When the nurse finds out, she freaks out. She wants them to play musical chairs (without taking out a chair either, so no one loses!), and refrain from any dancing or even blowing out birthday candles.

Thelma had such an impact on the place, that Gert, who was perfectly capable to begin with, leaves the place and gets an apartment with another guy from the home, that she has a thing for.

It's really a good episode. I can't, for the life of me, figure why TBS forgets it. It's not like it's "bad" either and couldn't get passed censors, unless you think two elders living together without marraige is bad!
