Smile What was The Best Season?

I absolutely love the Facts Of Life,as
I grew up on this show.At 30 Years
old I continue to enjoy it.I have to
say in looking at all of the seasons,
the 1985-1986 was probably the best
one.The show gained a very fresh new
look with Over Our Heads and the characters really blossomed.I found them to be funnier with a sharper, faster
quicker whit starting the 85-86 season.
In addition,the storylines were better.
The introduction of George Clooney and
Mackenzie Astin was also very refreshing.
The clothes, style and music of the show
was much hipper and fresher than previous
seasons.I have to say I think the last
two seasons with Beverly were a bit
disappointing and my least favorite. The show had lost alot
of its luster. The spinoff attempt with
Blair buying Eastland just didnt have
enough laughs, the show was not even picked up
by NBC.In any event, just my two cents,
let me know what were your favorite seasons
of the show.

for me, had to be any season between 2 and 6 (80-85). The show began losing it once Mackensie joined the show. Beverly Ann was the final straw IMO.

I agree, 2-6 were the best. Mackenzie and that other dude just ruined it!

Thumbs down

The over our heads episodes were really bad. Beverly Ann annoyed me. She was such an air head. But I thought Andy was funny. - Especially the episode when he tries out for West Side Story and does that dance.

I agree with the part about the fresh new look for the show. If you can remember a lot of shows were getting a fresh new look. Different Strokes, Silver Spoons, The Love Boat, and others. 1985 was a year of change.

I think that season 2, when Jo comes on is the very best. 2-6 are the best. When the girls and Mrs. G open "OVER OUR HEADS" it gets pretty bad.

I enjoy Seasons 2-7 the most. IMO, Season 1 was laughably bad, even though I still like it.Seasons 8 & 9 were OK, but there was something missing. My guess is that that something is Edna Garrett. And whatever happened to Over Our Heads? It literally disappeared in the final season.

Finally someone who feels like I do. The first season was so bad. The story lines were good, but the character chemistry was not there. When Jo came on it turned the show around. The OVER OUR HEADS idea was so stupid, why would the writers do that?. When Mrs. G left it wasn't worth watching.

I think all the episodes were great. I'm only 12 yrs. old and I started watching some of TFOL on USA Network a couple yrs. ago. I kind of like the 80-85 theme of the TFOL. The 79-80 was okay, but It did not have a different melody to the 79-80 version. The 85-88 one was OK. It changed the tune! Oh Well!

I think the last three seasons could've been more bearable if they had kept them in Edna' Edibles. The set that was built was PERFECT for the girls and Mrs. G. They should have rebuilt the food shop instead of that stupid store (hamburger lamps?? - UGH)

if I had to get technical and choose only one season, it would be either 2 (1980-1981) or 3 (1981-1982). But 2-6 were all great. 1 and 9 had to be the worst seasons. 7 was when the show began to free-fall though, and it should've ended along with Charlotte's leaving.

I agree. I could never, and still can't, understand why the show went on when Mrs. G left. It just got so bad the last two seasons.
