Her ponytail was the best. When Jo took down her hair she looked so stupid! Not only did her hair suck, but so did the episodes!

That's how you can tell between the early years and the later years. I agree with Jo,about when she put her hair down, the show started to suck. All of the peoples hair was best in the second season.
The big hair was one of the drawbacks of the 80's, i guess. I only lived 5 years of my life in the 80's, so I sorta lucked out.

Sorry, going off on a tangent.

No way man. They all looked **HIDEOUS** in 80-81.
Natalie was beyond heinous with her greasy face and 1 inch uneven bangs (at least she got smart and grew them out by 81-82), Tootie had the afro bowl cut going, Jo looked like a guy, and Blair was like Miss Piggy. The 70s had yet to end that season as far as hair and fashion went in Peekskill.

Best hair:

Natalie: 1984-85, she actually looked somewhat cute this season. Nice big curls that weren't too huge or tacky. Looking back after 84-85 Nat had the least embarrasing, and most tasteful hair of all 4 girls. I love the red colour she died it in the very last years.

Tootie: 1984-85 and 1985-86

This was before her extensions, see the drive in ep if you want to see Kim looking her best. She looked ATROCIOUS from 1980-84.

Blair: 1982-83

Blair was probably the biggest fashion victim of the 4. Her hair was very nice in 79-80, but from 80-81 to 81-82 she had a very ugly country western, dirty blonde look. Like Miss Piggy as I said before. In 82-83 she got a huge makeover. Her hair was tapered to highlight her face, dyed a perfect shade of light blonde and it wasn't too big or feathered or anything. Her clothes were very good this season as well, eg: that blue and black dress that she later lent Jo in 83-84 (and Jo actually looked good in it too). In 83-84 Blair got a horrible feathered proto-dyke cut. Awful. She had a variation of this in 84-85, although she did look alot better that season. In the Spring Break episode (Part 1) she looked like a hooker! She sadly never really recovered, after this she looked like a 45 year old real estate agent.

Jo: 1983-84 (this was hard because her hair was pretty lame throughout the whole series! There's only so much you can do with her face)

For the poster directly above me (cookies I think): like the 1990s were any better? Fashion now is at least as lame as it's always been! I'd take the overall look of FoL in 84-85 over whats popular now.

Jo wasn't supposed to look really feminine or anything like blair. I think that's why they went with the "Throw it in a ponytail" look for Jo. Plus with a face like that you can't really make her look bad (They got pretty close with the feathered look) and I really like it in a ponytail. I loved her tomboy act and I wish she would have kept it up more through the series. but yeah I think that natalies hair was better once she grew out her bangs. I did like tootie's bowl cut for some reason. I usually hate it but I liked it on tootie. Blair there's just too many hair cuts. I liked it the first year they were in college (83 I think?). I say she looks better with bangs. Jo looks the best with wispy bangs.

i think you guys are critiqueing(however you spell that!)the show a bit much. i think that when Jo's hiar was down, she looked for feminine and less innocent. but that is just my opinion

The Ponytail thing with JO was cute, but she hasd the best hairdo between the 84-85 season and 87-88 season. I didn't care for the hair do that Tootie had between the 83-84 season. Blair has great hairdo's througout the years. Nat's best was between the early 87-88 season with the long red hair.

I used to watch this show all the time when it was on. I forgot all about what happened. I just started watching it in reruns again. So did anyone like Jo when her hair came down? Was there nothing good about her then? Did she get too soft? I think she's one of the best characters on the show. I think her hair was best in a ponytail.

I liked it when it was in two pony tails like in the new girl. She looked great like that! I didn't like it when it was down cause she sorta acted dumb then, she wasn't as tough and she had kinda gotten a little soft for my taste. I liked the very first season with jo!

You and me T, we think exactly alike!
I think all the seasons where they are all at Eastland are great. Including the hair then.
But I actually think she got tougher as the years went on,that or maybe she started to lose all the best lines. She actually seemed more sensitive and confused in the early years, but thats what made her the coolest.
