Default Racial equality in your town/at your school

How many different races, religions, nationalities, etc. are represented in your area?
My area is 99.9% white. Out of about 600 students/faculty at my school, 595 of us are white, 4 of us are black and one is biracial (Puerto Rican/white.) The town isn't much better - basically the only other racially different people are the families of the people I mentioned above. As far as religions or nationalities...the majority is German and Protestant.
I think it sucks that we have no diversity in our town. It makes us look racist or something, when we're really not.

My town is small (around 7000) We are just outside of Flint, Michigan. The population in our area is mostly caucasion but there are several blacks and hispanics. There are a lot of Czech's and Hungarians here. I would say that a large portion of the population is either Roman Catholic or Methodist. They have the largest church buildings anyway! It is a nice town all in all.

My neighbor to the left is Phillipine. My neighbor to the right is Sri Lankan. My neighbor across the street is Irish. My neighbor in the house behind me is African-American. And I, myself, am Hispanic. I'd say we're pretty representative of the melting pot New York is known to be

I live in an averaged sized town so I guess you could say there's a good amount of diversity. Most of the people I know are Roman Catholic (that includes me) but just because that's what the majority of people are doesn't mean that there's really no other religion here. I think there's a lot of different ones. There's also a lot of racially different people, too...but the largest group is probably causcasian. Still, though, everyone you ask is going to be something different from the last...

Let's just say my town is called Sterling Whites. We have almost no diversity at all. My school is about 98% white and that's a lot more diversity than when I was in elementary school, when the entire 6th grade graduating class was white. Diversity is becoming a little more apparant though, my neighbors on either side of us are Chinese and Albanian.

Why would it make you look racist? Just because your town is predominatly white isn't being racist, peoples actions and how they conduct themselfs in life shows what kind of person they are.

small town near the main line...like 99% white upper-middle class protestant. some catholic, my school has probably about 8 jews and 2 muslims.
not many african-americans, a few asians...i think we have more foreign exchange students than minorities who actually live here.

Grandville itself is pretty much white, but the Grand Rapids area as a whole is diverse. My mom told me that companies use Grand Rapids as a testing place for new products. Because of all the it's diversity.

Well Oklahoma City is pretty segregated actually. We have black ppl....not like Philadelphia or New York or L.A. or Atlanta etc population but there is diversity. Our school is 12% black, 3% Indian, 5% Asian, 3% Hispanic, and 78% white, and at our school, all the blacks and hispanics with each other, asians with eachother, etc.... I live in white suburbia also, but it's not like I hardly EVER see anyone of different races. If someone said they were Buddhist or something they'd probably be laughed at here....... I realllllly miss living in the city.....there are a lot of biggoted kids at our school even tho they dont believe they are...

Your town sounds exactly like mine, but I don't even know if we have 5 african americans in our school. We probably have 600 kids in our school, and only 1 is black.
