Does anyone remember a show with a little girl who was like a robot and I think she always wore a red dress. I believe it ran in the 80's but I'm not positive. I can't find the name of the show or any info about it at all!!!!! So please if someone knows anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this show will ever run anywhere again. That and "Out of This World," which I remember better. I gotta get a load of these wacky shows again.

Small Wonder
The little girl's name was Vicki. Vicki stood for Voice Input Child Identicon I love that show I wish they would put it on reruns. Here is a article about it: Ted Lawson was a research engineer with United Robotronics. He had secretly developed a robort that ,superficially, looked like a cute little 10-year-old girl. Ted took the robot ,a Voice Input Child Identicon" which he had nicknamed Vicki home to his wife and young son Jamie,so that he could get the kinks out of its programming. Vicki generally talked in a monotone, was totally logical ,and given to taking anything that was said quite literally-resulting in confusion and embarassment for Ted and his family when others were around. She was extremely strong, a quality that endeared her to "brother " Jamie when he had to deal with the neighborhood bully. She was also given to repeating things that others had said much like a parrot.Only Ted's family knew she was not human and they were hard-pressed to keep others from finding out. Reggie was Jamie's friend and Harriet the obnoxious girl next door who was almost as nosy as her mother. Harriet's father Brandon was Ted's overbearing boss at United Robotronics. In the second season Jamie went to junior high school and Vicki went too, creating problems for the other students who didn't have her perfect memory. His life at school was also complicated by having his mom show up frequently as a substitute teacher, falling in love with gold -digging Jessica (age 11),and coping with another kid in the class, obnoxious Warren, During the 1988- 1989 season,Jamie's romantic focus had shifted to a new girl, Debbie Barnhill. |
