Default The Matrix... What Is It Really? **Major Spoilers**

Warning: Major spoilers ahead...

Ok, for anyone who've seen Matrix Reloaded, one might start to ponder what the heck the Architect was talking about. Well, my friend who went to go see the movie with me had the following to say...

Scroll down below

Quote:
Ok, you know when the Architect said the first matrix failed because it was too perfect, so he made one like the real world, and it failed as well? The only simulation he could get to work is one where the few people who could tell they were in a matrix were given a choice (actually he just said when the people were given a choice, but who else would need one besides the people who could tell something was wrong?).

Anyway, just assume he meant the people who could perceive the world they lived in was not right - give them a choice, but what choice? the choice to leave what they thought was the matrix! But they never left, they are inside a program, were they believe they are outside the program. A matrix inside a matrix!

The only Matrix the architect could get to work was one where the few humans that could tell it was fake could "jackout" into yet another simulation where they thought they were free. Even providing them with a safe haven (zion) where there were humans (or programs acting like humans) that believed they were never in the matrix to begin with. The only problem was that this simulation allowed for some anomalies like Neo that forced the machines to kill off the current stock and start over with a fresh Matrix.

To start over 6 times to be exact.

That explains why the architect can say they've destroyed Zion 6 times, and why there have been 6 people like Neo, AND why Neo was able to zap the machine in "real life". Neo's power is only while jacked in, yet he was able to stop the machines outside of the perceived martix.

It's all the Matrix, there is no Zion, every human on earth is a slave to the machines, none are free - only playing the part of being free. When Neo destroys the Matrix once and for all, humanity as a whole will wake from the true dream into the true reality, which may or may not be what has been shown in the movies so far.

Anyway - IMHO.

Thumbs down

I saw the Matrix Reloaded last night. I thought it wasn't that good. The original was better. It's a shame because the film had a potentially good idea started out with a good plot line and then the film just went downhill from there.

Hmmm, I thought the opposite. I found that the movie started out rather poorly, especially with the whole Zion tribal dance scene and Morpheus' speech right before it. I went to see a movie, not a five minute long tribal dance rave scene with Neo & Trinity making love. That part really could have been shortened, or better yet, all together taken out. But, after about an hour the film took off and got a lot better and made up for the rather weak beginning. In fact, I plan on seeing it again soon so I can catch a bit more the next time around.
