Default Deleted Scenes on DVD!!???!!!!

Hi I am new to the board and have just "rediscovered" again
the great show "SANFORD AND SON" on TvLand, and it's been
over ten years since I've seen this show. I bought BOTH DVDs
immediately after getting hooked again in rapid fashion. The
original episodes are airing again right now but on the DVD
there are several minutes PER EPISODE that are cut out of each
TV airing!!!Is this the case with EVERY episode of "Sanford and
Son"-----that they always cut out 2-4 minutes (or more ) of great
material??? And is there any great stuff that's been cut from Tv
that I should look for on these DVDS?? Thanks!!

I am unaware of anything being cut from the DVD versions, save the one episode where Fred meets and hires "King" when Lamont leaves for another job.

"If you this ugly early in the morning, you this ugly at night."

Any more missing from the DVDs??

Oops---i MEANT that the TV episodes are missing material,
when aired, and that those missing scenes are on the DVD
episodes. Sorry!!!
I was curious what scenes not shown on TV are worth seeking out on the DVDS.
Thanks for the response!!

Don't really have an answer to your question, but welcome to the boards.

I'm not trying to be smart because i don't know if you have cable, but if you have TV LAND, you can answer your own question by watching episodes on TV LAND and on your DVD. They you will see how the episodes are different. In my case, I create my own UNCUT Sanford and Son Episode by recording a episode of TV LAND and my local UPN affailate. Both UPN AND TV LAND have different versions.

Default a straight answer

yes. there are various episodes in which there are scenes deleted. Might be time issues in which the episode is longer than the 30 minute time slot including commercials. The words he used are now considered racist so they deleted them. Here are two reason in which i think they edit the episodes. On dvd I noticed the same thing. I recommend the series on vhs. Don't forget to order your bobblehead doll for all those real hard core sanford and son watchers.
