Default Ray Romano does NOT deserve that big payrise!

everybody loves raymond is not even a good show.
is it popular in america, the show is unheard of over here in the UK as its only shown on cable.

i'm actually not sure on the ratings here for it but I KNOW ALOT of people that LOVE IT (including myself) so i'm guessing the ratings are pretty high
and IMO I think its ALOT better then HALF the shows out there now

Well, whether you want him to get a raise or not, he's getting one.

For the record, Ray doesn't cash the money in for pennies and then swim in them, like on 'Ducktales'. He gives A LOT to charities. I know because he once did a benefit for the St. Jude Center and he donated a heavty sum.

Everybody Loves Raymond is the best show ever and it is very popular constantly placing in the top 5 in the ratings. It's the number one sitcom tied with Friends (Terrible Show), they jump back and forth in the ratings taking turns being number one. I think Ray Romano deserves this pay raise he's the funniest sitcom comedian of all time and they need to give him a raise so that he'll continue ELR for a couple more seasons which I hope he does. NBC offered Jerry Seinfeld 5 million dollars I think it was and Ray is even funnier than Seinfeld.

Actually, "Everybody Loves Raymond" has never been as high rated as "Friends". In fact "Raymond" lost ratings this past season compared with last season.

Actually, there was a time when ELR was constantly in the top three and 'Friends' wasn't making the top ten. And there was once a time when ELR was the only scripted show in the top ten and the rest were reality shows and special like 20/20. ELR's ratings haven't dropped, they've pretty much stayed the same. Even the reruns get as high a rating as new episodes.

I hate arguing, but you can't be MORE wrong. According to Entertainment Weekly "Raymond" was down 1.6 million viewers this season. Partly because Joe Millionaire was scheduled in the same time slot for 8 weeks.

Plus 'Friends' has been in the top 10 it's whole run, while 'Raymond' has not.

Friends' ratings by season:

1994-1995 #9
1995-1996 #3
1996-1997 #4
1997-1998 #4
1998-1999 #2
1999-2000 #7
2000-2001 #5
2001-2002 #1
2002-2003 #3

Everybody Loves Ramond's ratings by season:

1996-1997 #86
1997-1998 #30
1998-1999 #11
1999-2000 #11
2000-2001 #8
2001-2002 #6
2002-2003 #9

I think we're both confused here. I'm talking about weekly ratings, you're talking about seasonal rating.

I personally don't think anyone on TV should be getting that much $, however, I'd rather it be Ray than someone else. I think it's the best current sitcom.

I don't think celebrities in general deserve that much money. And while I've always liked the show, I must admit that I think it's a little over-rated. I can think of other shows that are funnier and never got the attention and praise that ELR gets. Just my own personal opinion

Raymond- better than Jerry Seinfeld and Friends?! hah, thats funny, tell me another one. I've only watched ELR 2 times, and i hated it. I think the little girl is cute, but its ok that other people like it, just don't say its better than Seinfeld and Friends!

Friends is terrible. Seinfeld is overrated.

If you want to think that Friends and Seinfeld are better than ELR, fine, but just don't expect other people to.

If someone thinks that it's better than Seinfeld or Friends, they have every right to say so.
