I think it was My Three Sons. It ran from 1960-72 I believe. Ozzie and Harriet ran a long time too. I'm not sure how long though. I know that it started out as a radio show before it went to television.

I would guess MASH. Ran 11 years.

Sad

I hate to say this but technically the longest running sitcom is the british comedy Last Summer of the Wine, it's been on the air for around thirty years.

The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett is the longest running American sitcom as of right now, it ran from 1952 to 1966. The Simpsons has also run 14 years I believe, but that show has far less episodes than O&H and it only aired like one or two episodes in 1989 werm sooo I'd still count O&H until the new season begins. Werm.

I believe that the longest-running American sitcom was The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. The show lasted 14 years which ran from 1952 to 1966 and produced over 400 episodes. However, "Ozzie & Harriet" may not be the longest-running American sitcom for much longer since The Simpsons will be ending its 14th year this spring and thus beginning its 15th year next fall.

Th Simpsons will have more seasons, but since they have less episodes per season these days, it'll take a while for The Simpsons to beat out Ozzie and Harriet for the amount of episodes.

The Simpsons is expected to end in atleast May of 2005. So, that means it should have about 16 seasons and about 360 episodes and then that will make it the longest running American sitcom in television history, with The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett as the runner-up.

Talking LOTSW

Last of The Summer Wine hasn't had NEARLY as many episodes as a sitcom in America if a US sitcom ran for 30 years. I think there's something like 350 episodes or so! They always took breaks on that show- sometimes for like five years all the while releasing maybe one episode every few months as a little treat kinda. Absolutely Fabulous was like that for a while but has picked up.

I have a similar list. This does not include The Simpsons.
01. The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet (1952-1966) 435 episodes
02. My Three Sons (1960-1972) 380 episodes
03. Make Room for Daddy (1953-1964) 336 episodes
04. Cheers (1982-1993) 275 episodes
05. The Donna Reed Show (1958-1966) 274 episodes
06. M*A*S*H (1972-1983) 255 episodes
07. Happy Days (1974-1984) 255 episodes
08. Bewitched (1964-1972) 254 episodes
09. The Jeffersons (1975-1985) 253 episodes
10. The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968) 249 episodes

I could be wrong about this list. Not about the episode numbers, but I might have missed a show a two.

However, if All in the Family and Archie Bunker's Place are combined then you get 308 episodes. The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D. combined gives a total of 327 episodes. Those are examples of shows that changed titles, but ran a long time.

I think you did miss a few shows, The The Jack Benny Program (1950-1965) 358 episodes and Married...With Children (1987-1997) 262 episodes.
