Smile Edna Garrett

I see all this praise for various girls, so I felt it's time my favorite redhead school dietician got her due. She has always been my favorite b/c of her voice and her facial expressions and those hairstyles (I swear they found every possible way to put her hair up into a bun). Any thoughts???? I'm open for any questions, comments, concerns.

I totally agree! Mrs. G does deserve recognition, as Eastland's favorite dietician! I too love her voice and expressions. She is so, so funny. Where would the girls have been without good old Mrs. G? My favorite thing about her is her high pitched yell, GIRLS!!!!!! I love when she does that. I think the hair stylists should go in the record books with that hair! Who knows how many styles of buns they created. Mrs. G was the rock of the group. Great topic!!

Sad

I swear, except for the red hair, my mom is a carbon copy of Mrs. G. The voice, the hair style, the height, the nagging, the smile....everything is like Mrs. G. That voice may be an amusing aside for this show if you only have to listen to it for bits and pieces within a half hour once a week, but to listen to it day in and day out for quite an extended period of time, it gets to be very annoying. Maybe that's why I find her to be the most annoying character on the show.

Actually, Beverly Ann Stickle is the most annoying.

Members & Moderator,

I thought Charlette Rae was a lot better than Cloris Leachmen. I thought that was the wrong move on the casting directors to replace Charlette Rae -- they should have kept her on.

Charlotte Rae wasn't let go, she wanted to quit. She thought the girls were too old and they didn't need her anymore.

Only cause the writers gave her lines like the lines she had in "Dear Apple" when she was like, " You're on your own!" I HATE that episode because of that. That's sooooooooooo NOT Mrs. Garrett! You ALWAYS need Mrs. Garrett...

I loved Mrs. Garrett...i wish she wouldnt have left. I think the show just went downhill from there.

Oh, I know what you mean about her lines in the later episodes. I hate what the writers did to her in some of those episodes.

I liked Mrs. G too, she was great I loved her voice too. She has a kind heart, and she was great at lecturing when people were sad or mad.
This goes to Mrs. Garrett

Exactly! For awhile, I felt like I might have been the only one who noticed this. It's nice to know that I'm not losing my mind.
