Default Did I make the right decision?

I just wanted some opinions on this. My school's track meet is today and my physed class is helping out with the track events. But, I've got other classes. I was talking to my mom last night about this and she said that I shouldn't go to track and should go to my classes. My other classes this semester are: drama, Canadian Literature (English class) and graphic arts. I want to take some film classes after high school so my drama would be important and I definetely need my Canadian Literature. Both those classes are in the morning. Is it the right decision if I don't go to track and go to my other classes instead?

Your phys ed teacher is telling you to skip your other classes to help with the track meet? Maybe you should go to the office and ask permission to go to your classes instead. Then you'd have "official endorsement" for your course of action. If there were just a little more detail explaining your situation....

Hmm.. I dunno. IMO, you should do what you want- not what you should.

Yeah, basically. I was thinking my english class is more important though, as is my drama class because I'll need them to graduate. I was thinking of just going to my classes. I just wanted some feedback on my decision to know if it's the right thing to do or not.

Does anyone else have some opinion they can give me about my decision?

If it is not a problem to just go to your classes, then do it.

Otherwise, missing one day of classes will not kill you.

You never know what may happen, you could have some fun

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll do that. My drama and Canadian Lit is more important than my physed, anyway, since it's not a serious academic class or anything like that.

Why do schools put so much emphasis on PE over academics?? Sure, fitness is important, but it won't help you get into college.

I completely agree. I don't even think PE should be required to graduate. I don't know if it is everywhere, but it is here. 2 years of it in HS. Utter BS. And to get an associate's degree at the community college here, PE is required. It really infuriates me.

And Jem, I've never once heard of having to miss one class to go to another. That is so silly that you were put in that situation in the first place. I hope you ended up doing what you wanted.

not for meee....it would but I take it for no gpa so that it doesn't bring down my gpa and then therefore raising my class rank (cuz I take honors classes and they're weighted heavier than regular classes and gym is a regular class)...

but anyways I don't see why it's a huge deal if it's just for one day.
