I became aware a few years ago that many people don't like clowns, or are afraid of them, or are made to feel uncomfortable by them. It kind of surprised me, because my reaction had always been simply, "Okay, he's trying to be funny." I asked my then girlfriend why anyone would be afraid of clowns, and she said that she didn't like them because they had smiles painted on their faces, raising the question of what they were really thinking behind the facade. That's about as much as I understand the phenomenon of disliking or fearing clowns. Do you like them or hate them? For you clown haters out there, do you have any good stories? Anyone chased by a clown?

I think it's a bit silly to be creeped out by clowns cos they have the smile painted on. If they have it painted on- I just think 'it's make up' and if I wonder whats behind the facade, I'm not bothered by it. A person wouldn't work as a clown unless they wanted to- there are many other jobs needing the same ammount of qualifications - which is none, and pay the same.

That could be but I have had this phobia since I was a little girl, long(eons!)before Stephen King!

I never saw It, but Killer Clowns From Outer Space was enough for me. My brother liked to torture me when I was little with this movie, even the music from it creeped me out.

And to get him back I gave him a nice kick right in his save deposit box.

I HATE that movie, When i first saw it i wouldn't go into my room because it had clowns in it, that was when i was 6 years old. *shudders* Just keep those clowns away from me.

I used to think nothing of clowns - they didn't bother me,or anything.Then,when I heard people talk about how freaked out they got by clowns,movies about evil clowns,etc.,it got me to thinking,so,I think it tainted my view of them,some.Maybe that sounds stupid,but it did.
