Which Character would have the best Spin-Off? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Which character do you think would of had the best spin-off? Since Joe and Brian are pretty much the stars of this show, they don't need a spin-off. It would be like Frasier. Meaning the show would have started the season after Wings ended. So the 1997-98 season. Here's the supporting characters of that time.

Fay Evelyn Cochran - Maybe if she had a really funny sidekick.

Roy Biggins - No. I couldn't see him as the star of his own sitcom.

Antonio Scarpacci - Yes. The Antonio character could have lived outside of "Wings".

Casey Davenport - Maybe. She'd have to change her personality alot first.

Here's my idea...

Wings II: The Next Generation

Joe and Helen have decided to stay in Vienna and raise a family while Helen plays the cello there and Joe works for an Austraian airline.

Fay and Roy have both retired and left the island. Fay went to California while Roy went to Florida.

Casey reconciled with Stewart and moved with him back to San Fransisco.

This leaves just Brian and Antonio at the airport, where they have a new mix of friends, including Kellie, who now runs the lunch counter, Leon, who took over Antonio's cab business (He got his pilot license and works with Brian now.), and Ray Buggins, who now runs AeroMass and wouldn't you know it, is just like Roy! Lowell and Alex both return to the island.

Brian, Antonio, and Kellie will have the relationship that Joe, Brian, and Helen used to have. Lowell and Alex will still be the same, only Alex will start dating Antonio while Brian falls for Kellie. Ray does what Roy used to do and Leon can be a totally different character.

What do you guys think?

If Helen hadn't married Joe, I think that she could have had a very funny and successful spin-off series.

The character of Helen is such that she can play off of just about anyone...and I could see a spin-off where a still-single Helen leaves Nantucket to take a job playing cello in a Symphony Orchestra in a big city.

The idea of Helen starting a new life in a big city, along with her clashing with some of the more snobbish members of the classical music world could make for some good comedy.

Just "What If?"-ing again, that's all!
