Ann Marshall theories needed

I write a column for the Roanoke Times in Roanoke Virginia.
I'm trying to find out why Ann Marshall left MFM. I've gotten one very good answer already, but wanted to see what other ideas were out there.

Neither CBS nor the actors ever commented about the fact that Ms. Marshall’s character of Angela Brown was simply dropped from the series after 3 appearances. The reasons I can give are pure speculation. Sherwood Schwartz was brought in by the network to offer advice on reworking the series and perhaps the character of the landlady’s teen daughter was deemed unnecessary to any of the new storylines in development, which sought to emphasize the Martian’s attempts to get home and his friendship with the reporter. And the storylines concerning Mrs. Brown may have been easier to write if she did not have the responsibility of raising a teenage daughter. So, realizing the error of including the Angela Brown role, the powers that be simply dropped the character with no explanation, a common practice in television in those days. Again, this is my own speculation.
