Sad re: no future for Futurama

I've heard that they have. Kind of odd that something that Matt Groening created was cancelled...

Since Futurama was preempted so many times and animated series work year round on thier shows, FOX had a whole season worth of episodes that were unaired. They told the folks at Futurama not to make anymore and are just running the episodes out. So when the last new episode airs, Futurama will be officially kaput.

Yeah, they are running them out this summer, and Matt made one new episode to air as the final episode.

Fox wanted it killed from the first airing, I swear. I wonder what Matt Judge is bribbing Fox with to keep King of the Hill on the air?

I agree.
Don't get me wrong, I like Kilng Of The Hill, but I don't see how it's lasted this long when other animated shows (some that were far superior) have gotten the ax.

King of the Hill is funny sometimes. But other times, like the dog dancing episode, I wonder why this show is still on. I mean, people dancing with dogs! Futurama had a lot more creative ideas left in it. At least we know the series won't just end with a regular episode.

King of the Hill is still on for this reason: it's not a laugh out loud funny show, that uses just perverse humor, and celebrity gossip humor. It's one of those shows that make you chuckle to yourself, which is something that I like. Plus, it's not just good for comedy value, I also find it to be somewhat of a touching show.
